First day at work!

This is what I look like at 5:30 in the morning, apparently. Who knew?

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Cardigan: Primark
Bag: Primark
Patent pumps: Clarks

This cardigan is actually a good few sizes too big. It looks ridiculous on me but it's the only black cardigan I have. So I tied it around my waist into this ballet shrug look. I like it, especially how it acccentuates my waist.

I learned a number of things from work today regarding appropriate clothes. These are the two main reflections I have.

1. Layers are key!
I thought I was being very sensible in my long-sleeved dress and cardigan. All layered up, I thought. Turns out, teaching involves darting in and out of different rooms a lot. And not all the rooms are heated the same. One might be freezing, whereas the room next door might feel like a sauna. The solution? Layer upon layer that you can add or remove as necessary. Genius!

2. Fingerless gloves
I own a pair of fingerless gloves. Well, those funny mitten/ fingerless gloves combos. They're thick, cream woolly ones. Oh, and they have panda faces on. Not really suitable for sitting in a classroom typing.

"Typing?" you say! Yep. My room, as it turns out, gets pretty chilly in the evening and when I'm typing up resources or lesson plans or assessments or any of those many other aspects that the "Wish I Worked 9 Til 3" Brigade forget about, my hands get icy cold.

So I am now on the hunt for simple, lightweight and, of course, warm fingerless mittens to see me through the winter evenings.

All in all, it was a very interesting day. Now, however, I am super tired so I think I'm going to read over my plans for tomorrow then tuck up in bed. Night!
