The Lush non-event

I'm an idiot. I booked two spaces to attend the Lush Christmas Launch Party in the Reading branch and put a shoutout for somebody to join me. Alyssia snapped up the space, which was awesome as she's going to Bloggers' Halloween. It was lovely to meet her before then. However, I totally misread the time of the event and we ended up completely missing it.

After mustering up some courage, we explained our predicament to one of the guys working there. Ryan, as he was called (according to my receipt), was very nice to us and explained that they're holding another one next week. We actually got to choose the best time for us and we booked our spaces there and then so we're definitely able to go.

We didn't want our visit to be wasted of course, so we spent a fair while hanging around the shop, smelling everything and buying far too much, as usual!

Here's a little sneak peek of what I bought! I'll have a full post about it soon!

Afterwards, we popped up the escalators to Ed's Diner. The waitress explained to us that they were going to close in 5 minutes so we'd have to order before then. Alyssia assured her that it would be no problem. Yes, we're those people: The ones that restaurant staff hate! Even more so when they brought out the wrong food and Alyssia had to send it back!
I'd already eaten so I just had a mint chocolate milkshake. Their milkshakes are incredible! Alyssia very kindly bought it for me so we're essentially friends for life now!

Turns out that my terrible time-keeping skills ended up leading to a pretty cool evening. Plus, we get to hang out again next Sunday, along with Nadine, who has also booked a space. If you want to come along, all the details are on the Lush Reading Twitter account. It would be great to meet some more bloggers there!

  2. You bought the Snow Fairy massage bar thing that is supposed to be filled with glitter, oh my, excite! I'm so jealous of all the events they set up over in the UK! It's a bit funny that you missed it, but at least you had a good evening and you get to do it all over again next week :D

  5. Ed's is fab! They definitely don't have enough diners though, we need one in Bristol or Bath!
We had an amazing breakfast there a few months back, and my husband managed to set the manager right on the age of one of their jukeboxes (they had the year wrong by 4 years). The other half is a bit of a jukebox connoisseur - we have one 1950's one in our house and my father in law has 16! :-) x
