Virtual Travels

Let's get this out of the way: I have no life. Right, now I can tell you about something I really love doing, and hopefully you won't judge me. I really enjoy pulling up Google Maps, wiggling the cursor around the page and then looking on Street View at wherever it lands. Sometimes, you'll end up somewhere really pretty and interesting. When I find these beautiful places, I screenshot them and save them. It's a bit weird, I know, but it really makes me aware of how vast the world is and how different other countries are.

 Bagenden, England
 Ipanema, Brazil
 Mt Hood, Oregon, USA
 Palapye, Botswana
 Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
Pereira, Columbia

Have you ever found anywhere really pretty or interesting on Street View? Surely I can't be the only person who does this?

  2. I have never thought of this, but what a cool idea!! I will often look places up on Street View when I've heard of them on the news or something- I discovered that Braemar is BEAUTIFUL! I will definitely be doing this when I'm bored at work tomorrow...!! xx

  6. This is such a cool thing to do! Who would have thought such petty places could come out of randomly picking a spot on a map? xx

  8. Man Google Maps is so amazing. I can't get over how cool it is that you can basically click anywhere on the map and see what's there. This sounds like an awesome free time activity to me! I may have to try it sometime!

  16. I never thought of doing that, although I was using it to look up my ancestors addresses from the 1911 census.
