Things I'd tell my younger self: The fashion & beauty edit

After reading this post by Becky (erm, not me), I started thinking about what I would tell my younger self in terms of fashion and beauty advice.

DARK FOUNDATION WILL NOT HIDE THE HAIR ON YOUR TOP LIP
I was mortified when I noticed hairs on my top lip. Of course the answer was to wear foundation about 5 shades too dark to hide it. Obviously.

GET CONTACTS
It will save you the shame of reinventing yourself by just taking your glasses off and walking into your first history lesson late with no idea if you're even in the right class, since you can only see a foot in front of you.

DON'T USE GEL TO STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR
Yeah, it might tame the frizz, but it also looks like you're wearing a brunette hard hat. Just ask for some straighteners for Christmas.

BEFORE DYING YOUR HAIR PINK, BLEACH IT
If you don't, it will just turn terracotta and look absolutely ridiculous.

LEARN TO WALK IN HEELS NOW
You'll regret it later if you don't.

DON'T PANIC ABOUT YOUR EYEBROWS
Trust your gut! All those girls with pencil thin eyebrows? They'll regret it in 10 years time when full brows are all the rage!

  1. I would give myself the same advice re heels. I only bought my first pair like a year ago (I'm 20) and they were only chunky boot heels! I'm terrible in them.
