Making Changes with Appleyard London

I've never really been into flowers. Pretty rose bouquets and all that just don't do it for me. When I saw these tulips from luxury florists Appleyard London, however, I fell in love! They're a little bit different, super pretty and make me feel like spring is on its way! Appleyard London Springtime Tulips
Springtime Tulips, the bouquet here, has been an eye-opening forage into the world of floristry. For one thing, I quickly realised I didn't have a vase (although I do think the little bucket was a lovely- and ingenious- idea). Then there's the fact that I don't have the first clue about how to actually take care of tulips. Luckily they were delivered with some basic flower care instructions and I Googled specific information on caring for tulips to help.

Having never had flowers delivered before, I wasn't sure what to expect but, to my relief, they arrived perfectly intact and ready to be displayed. A little trim and a water has kept them looking relatively fresh for the past 4 days. Apparently tulips are prone to drooping, which is something I have found, but with a little strategic rearranging, you'd never know.

Something I really love about having flowers in the house, especially pretty pastel tulips, is that it feels like spring is on the way. Since spring is all about new beginnings, it's rather apt that today I can share some big news. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen I shared an image of these flowers with a rather cryptic captiion. Now is the time to reveal all!

Today I resigned from my teaching job. For a long time I've been talking about going back to uni this year so I'm sure it won't come as a surprise but it definitely feels like a huge step. I was expecting to feel a huge sense of relief once I'd handed in my resignation but, at the moment, all I feel is a bit confused. I'm so very sad to be leaving the school- and especially the children- I have come to care for so much but I'm super excited for the next chapter in my life. Come the end of March, I will be a free elf!
Appleyard London review
Every day we make changes to our lives. Whether they are monumental decisions or the tiniest of adaptations, everything we do sets our life on a new path. While I'm celebrating being a step closer to my dream, why not congratulate yourself on the changes you've made?

This spring is certainly going to be very interesting! I can't wait to see how it turns out!

  2. I'm so proud of you for taking this massive step and doing what's right for you even though it's difficult in some ways. I totally empathise - when I made the decision not to go back to the school I worked in, I was relieved to get away from a hugely toxic environment and certain staff and pupils who had contributed to my misery (and ultimate suicide attempt), but I also had to say goodbye to some wonderful people and there are children I still miss daily. But in the long term, I'm much happier, and I'm sure you will be too!

    Also, the flowers are gorgeous!

  9. Congratulations on taking the plunge and leaving teaching. I don't teach but have spent a lot of time working with schools (I'm a play therapist) and completely understand why so many teachers leave the profession. Good luck with the next stage in your life.
