Review // Lush Kerbside Violet Perfume

I used to be really into perfume (as evident in this very early- horrific- post of mine) but when I started working, I got out of the habit of applying it regularly. When you wake up 15 minutes before you need to leave, there's no time for luxuries like perfume! For this reason, I've always neglected the Gorilla Perfume section of Lush stores. Why would I buy another bottle when I have 30 neglected ones at home? Then, at the Lush Reading Winter Event, I tried a spritz of Kerbside Violet and fell in love!
Lush Kerbside Violet Perfume review
The bottles of all the Lush Gorilla Perfumes are right up my street. Unlike designer fragrances, they're not showy or contrived. Don't get me wrong, I love the curves of Jean Paul Gaultier Classique and the apple-shaped Lolita Lempicka, but the simplicity of the Lush designs are wonderful. 30ml fragrances are sold in chunky cubes whereas the smaller 10ml variants are in super convenient vials. This latter bottle is the one I chose as it's much easier to slip it inside my handbag and apply during the day (Plus the fact that I've never actually finished a bottle of perfume so I probably don't need the larger bottle).

Unlike some of the other Gorilla Perfumes, Kerbside Violet has a spray applicator which is so much more practical than the droppers that are otherwise favoured. One spritz releases a generous amount of fragrance so it doesn't take more than a spray on each wrist for a noticeable scent with a strong sillage.

As you'd imagine, violets are very much the key note here but the sweetness is offset with an earthier base note of jasmine. This, as well as the inclusion of ylang ylang and rosewood oil, gives the fragrance an element of maturity that toys with the youthfulness of violets. The end result is a fairly unique scent that has all the makings of a signature scent.

  1. This is my go-to scent for Spring! I love the grassy but sweet floral scent. I'm glad you've branched out into the fragrance section of Lush - it's my favourite. x

  4. This looks so handy for during the day at work - like you've said it's the perfect size to pop in your handbag! Love a spray more than a dropper any day.

  5. How long have they had this out? I don't remember ever seeing this in their stores or on their websites. My favourite perfurme is LUSH's Imogen Rose, but I've never been massively impressed with any of their others - they smell a bit to masculine for my liking. However, this smells like something I might like. Shall have a sniff next time I go in - not that I need another perfume at all, as I have only ever finished about two bottles of perfume in my life.

    1. It was released this past summer so not long ago. The volume 3 perfumes are more feminine and floral than the previous releases.
