Nails // Essie Comfy in Cashmere and OPI Matte Top Coat

After 3 weeks of almond nails, I've decided that I absolutely love them. Yes, they're taking a bit of getting used to and yes, I keep ripping my clothes but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take for such an elegant shape. I chose to stick with this shape and plumped for a grey shade on them this time. It's still a little bit too early for pastels!  Essie Comfy in Cashmere Swatch
Essie Comfy in Cashmere is a shade I haven't tried before but it looked similar to Chinchilly, which I absolutely loved, so thought I'd give this a go. This one is interesting because, although it's a grey-lilac on first glance, when you look closer it's actually made up of little iridescent blue sparkles. It's also different as it dries to a more matte finish than other varnishes I've tried before, although the glossy top coat disguised that effect.

However, when I got home, I decided to try something I've been excited about for ages- the OPI Matte Top Coat. I'm writing a full review in a couple of weeks but, suffice to say, I am in love! I absolutely adore the look it's given my nails- just like the cashmere in the name!

I'm pretty certain that I'm going to have matte nails for the rest of my life.

Do you have a minute to talk about these rose gold rings too? They're from Buckley London and I am completely besotted by them! From the Shoreditch Collection, they're designed as stacker rings so you can either wear them separately, together or on different fingers like I've done here. I'm definitely a less-is-more person when it comes to jewellery so this simple button design is perfect for me.

Something I'm really impressed with is how small the ring sizes are. I have disproportionately narrow fingers (my wedding ring is a size H!) so finding rings to fit is a real nightmare. The small size of these is a K and, if anything, they're actually a little too small, although the medium- an O- would be way to big so I'm happy to work with these on my smaller fingers, or use them as midi rings, as you can see here.

If you're looking for some understated, but super stylish, jewellery, I definitely recommend taking a look at Buckley London.

  11. I do love a matte top coat. I think certain shades and types of nail art look much better matte than glossy. The only problem I have sometimes is making sure I get the top coat right up to the edge of the colour so I don't end up with any glossy bits still left around the edges x
