Review // Lush Starcraft Cleanser

In my eyes, it's a huge shame that Lush don't sell more cream cleansers. As much as I love the standard range, it's just so fiddly and time consuming (not to mention messy!) to mix up the solution. 9 to 5, the sole cream cleanser in the permanent collection, is a favourite of mine, so when I saw Starcraft cleanser in the Kitchen, I just had to snap it up.

PACKAGING

I chose the smaller 100g bottle because a) it's cheaper, b) it's suitable for hand luggage when travelling and c) it will last me a good few months as it is, without splashing out on a big 'un. Like 9 to 5 it comes packaged in a recycled bottle with a click lid which, when finished, can be taken into any Lush store for recycling.

APPLICATION

It goes without saying that Starcraft has a creamy consistency- this is a thick, cream-coloured... well... cream. Made from oat milk and almond oil, it has a warm, comforting fragrance with more than a hint of lavender. The overall scent is one of relaxing, soothing goodness. On application, the cream smooths over the skin with a soft, gentle feel, radiating that calming lavender fragrance. As it's of a thicker consistency, you don't need to use up too much product, but it still absorbs into the skin very quickly. In contrast to some harsh cleansers, Starcraft removes dirt so gently that it's almost easy to forget that this is a cleanser, not a moisturiser.

RESULTS

Immediately after use, my skin feels soothed and baby-soft. I can imagine the oat and almond ingredients would make this particularly good for sensitive skin, and it's worked very well on my dry cheeks. After using this for over two weeks, I've noticed a considerable change in how smooth and nourished my skin is. I wouldn't expect such huge benefits from a cleanser, so I'm really impressed!

I'm so glad I gave Starcraft a try. If you see it pop up in the Kitchen again soon, I'd really recommend grabbing a bottle!

  1. I actually need to pick this up as my skins looking really flared up at the moment and my acne looks so much worse :( maybe the oats and lavender would calm it down and sort it out a little! I love ultrabland and eager to give this a try now x

I've been using 9 to 5 along with Breath of Fresh Air for over a year now and it has done wonders for my skin, Lush do need to make some more cream cleansers though!
