Spring Empties

I actually remembered to post my empties this time! Are you proud? I'm completely baffled by how few items I have to include this time. I'm very close to finishing quite a few products though, so I should have more by the end of summer!
Spring Empties
DIPTYQUE VANILLE CANDLE

Oh I do love a good Diptyque candle! The warm, creamy vanilla fragrance was so enticing, although I did find this particular candle was a right pain to burn evenly, for some reason. It did last forbloodyever though so that's a huge plus!
Repurchase? Maybe eventually but I've got so many other fragrances to try out first!

SOAP & GLORY DRAMA CLEAN MICELLAR WATER

This micellar water divided me so much! It lifted a huge amount of make up and general grime from my face, and left my skin feeling refreshed. However, it had a huge amount of cucumber as an ingredient and I can't stand the smell of cucumber. Such a shame as it was so perfect otherwise... and such a cute bottle too!
Repurchase? No, but only because of the cucumber!

SIMPLE KIND TO SKIN MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

After the cucumber disaster that was Soap & Glory, I tried the Simple micellar water instead. It was certainly gentle but, erm, it didn't really do anything. I spent forever trying to remove every trace of make up and would end up pulling on my skin, especially around the eyes, which is never good! At least it didn't have cucumber, and it's great if you're on a budget, but it just wasn't for me.
Repurchase? No, I want something with a bit more welly!

LUSH CELESTIAL MOISTURISER

I bought Celestial in a blog sale after finishing my beloved British Nanny. It's a much lighter formula and I thought it would be great for warmer days. At first, I loved it but when my skin started to become more dehydrated, I realised I was going to need something much more nourishing.
Repurchase? Maybe if my skin stops being so dry but not for the meantime.

LUSH HOT TODDY SHOWER GEL

Yes, I'm still using up Lush Christmas products. In fact, yesterday I used a Yog Nog bath bomb! Hot Toddy is one of my favourite Lush Christmas products but I try not to use it as the days get heat up because the warming spicy fragrance just feels wrong in summer! Because of this, I've been using it as often as possible- usually as a bubble bath- so I don't have loads sitting around over summer. I love it and can't wait for next Christmas. If it doesn't return, I will not be happy!
Repurchase? Definitely!

LUSH AMERICAN CREAM CONDITIONER

Lush doesn't sell as many conditioners as I would like. Unless I want to use a solid conditioner- which is rubbish, by the way- I only really have a selection of four to choose from. American Cream is my favourite as it's thick (perfect for my super dry hair), exceptionally moisturising and the most wonderful creamy fragrance. It's supposed to be strawberries and cream but I've never really picked up the scent of strawberries from it. Nevertheless, it's an absolute staple of mine and my hair pretty much relies on it.
Repurchase? Already have!

SMASHBOX PHOTO FINISH HYDRATING PRIMER

Special mention goes to this product. You may have noticed that it's not included in the photo above. That's because I left it in a hotel room in Salzburg. Good work, Becky. We did actually contact the hotel to see if they found it because I wasn't about to let a £23 quarter-used primer get away from me that easily but, unfortunately, they never got back to us. *Keeps in mind for TripAdvisor review* To be honest, it wasn't a huge loss because I didn't really like the primer anyway. Sure, it was hydrating but it just felt like an extra layer of moisturiser. I'm just bitter that I didn't get to use it all up!
Repurchase? Nope because it just wasn't worth the hype.

Hopefully I'll have a few more empties to include next time... and I'll try not to leave any primers in hotel rooms in the meantime!

  1. I've heard great things about the Simple Micellar Water but never bought it because the Garnier one works well for me, and you get far more product at a similar prize. Maybe I won't bother after reading this! I like the smell of cucumber though, so maybe next time the S&G one is on offer and I'm running low I may pick this up.

Talking of Lush Christmas products, I've also recently used Yog Nog and still have a bottle of Snow Fairy to use (I can't get through my Lush products at the rate I buy them haha).

  2. I feel the same way about Lush's lack of conditioners, but even American Cream isn't heavy duty enough for my untameable mane! My heart broke on hearing about you leaving the primer behind, I left a practically brand new (used once) MAC lipstick in Kavos and I nearly cried. At least you weren't so keen on the primer! xx

  5. I started using American Cream conditioner a few months back and I'm a total convert. It's so good to my hair! I didn't know Soap and Glory had their own micellar water - I might have to give it a try. I like the smell of cucumber ;) x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

  6. This is still a solid amount of empties! It's always so satisfying getting the last drop out. I've never seen that Soap and Glory micellar water, but unfortunate to see that it smells of cucumbers. I am so with you on hating cucumber scented items - I haven't met very many (if anyone) else who hates them too! Besides my brother that is. I'll only take cucumber melon scented items because the melon overpowers the scent a lot haha.

Just found your blog and really liking it so far :)
