Achieved

#44: Collect my perfume wishlist (3/5)

A bit of a bonanza this week. I had some money left over from my birthday so I treated myself to Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y then my mum came round with a belated present: Jean Paul Gaultier Classique. Brilliant!

#56: Actually start saving for our wedding

Yep, this was a little hard to provide photographic evidence of without revealing any personal details whatsoever. Pretty impressed that I managed to pull it off!

We're getting married in less than 13 months' time and have £250 to show for it. Still, it's better than this time last week when we had absolutely zero. I've opened up a fancy new high-interest savings account and everything. I feel like a real adult!

Still to Achieve

#2: Pass induction

Induction is what happens in your first year of teaching. You're fully qualified, you have your own class and everything but in order to continue working as a teacher, you need to pass induction. This is assessed through regular observations, book scrutinies, meetings with a mentor and so on. I am 2 terms through and so far everything is going just fine. Fingers crossed!

#9: Sponsor a lovely blog

There are loads of blogs I like and I would really love to support one by sponsoring it. The trouble is deciding which one. Maybe I'll sponsor a different one every month. That could work.

#14: Take my little brother to a festival or gig

In 1001 days, my brother will be 14 (and a half). I'm not sure if he will be old enough for my mum to allow him to accompany me to a gig. A festival is almost certainly out of the question. Still, it's a nice goal to have.

#27: See a Tracey Emin exhibition

As clichéd as it is, Tracey Emin is my favourite artist. I remember seeing Exploration of the Soul in the Tate Modern aged 17 and just standing there crying as I read it. I particularly love her neons as I relate to them so well. There are several parallels between her life and mine and, since her work often reflects her life, I really connect with her pieces. I intend on seeing her exhibition in Margate,She Lay Down Deep Beneath The Sea, in the summer.

#54: Own a designer handbag

Yet another exposure of my materialism. My grandma keeps telling me to save for a Mulberry. "A Mulberry bag is a bag for life", as she keeps saying. As much as I would love one, I think it might be a little out of my price range. Maybe a Marc by Marc Jacobs or See by Chloe would be more accessible.

#61: Dye my hair pink

Aged 16, I decided I wanted bright pink hair. I didn't realise that I had to bleach it first so my naturally dark hair ended up a rather fetching terracotta shade. This time I'm determined to get it right with ombre ends (then I can just snip them off before term starts in September).

  4. You have some great goals!! Deciding on a blog to advertise with is really hard. I have tried a few different ones and which ever I see is giving me the most traffic I stick with.
