Review: Ikea Tindra Vanilla Candle

I love scented candles. Yankee Candles are my favourite (Can we take a moment to appreciate how excited I am about the Christmas ones coming out soon?) but, at £20 a pop, they're pretty expensive. So imagine how excited I was when, on our bloggers' trip to Ikea, we discovered these 95p scented candles. Yeah, 95p. Say what?
In the glass, they smelt really strong. When I took the plastic lid off to light it, the vanilla scent filled the room. Funnily enough though, once lit and sitting next to me, I couldn't smell it as strongly. It seems to do that thing where you can't smell it in the room but when you leave it, the scent hits you. The vanilla is a really warm, enveloping scent. Unlike some candles, it really does smell like vanilla, with no synthetic hints.

The candle looks beautiful. It's in a very simple glass tumbler although the wide top means the wax burns through the middle and misses the sides. Despite that, the burn is fairly clean and the wick doesn't mushroom.

For 95p, this candle is amazing. I think next time I'll buy several of them to burn at once. They have different scents too. I can't wait to get my hands on the apple and cinnamon variety!

  1. These really are cheap as chips, and for costing less than a £, they do a pretty good job :o). Good old IKEA, these days they sure have more stuff than Billy :) Xx

  12. I've always wanted to get one of those! But whenever I go to Ikea, I get those 30 in a pack candles but they still smell soooo good. :) The red ones are my favorite!

  13. What a bargain! I'm not massively keen on vanilla as a fragrance, but the apple and cinnamon intrigues me and I do love the entire candle section at IKEA. It's that instant hit that you get when you approach it and I always leave with something, even if it's just berry scented tea lights (my absolute favourite). xo

    1. I love vanilla! I love apple and cinnamon too! It's berries that don't really do it for me.

  14. The vanilla one is great indeed! Funny how they are cheaper in the UK apparently. Here they are something like 3,50 in euro's.

    1. I think they do bigger ones too that are around the same price. I picked up the smaller one. That's why it's so cheap.
