Back during the 2002 World Cup, my dad bought me an England vest top as part of our clothes shopping for Majorca because "all the boys will think you like football, and they'll think you're really cool and fancy you". Although I left Majorca without meeting as much as one boy who fancied me because I was really cool and liked football*, it left me with a tendency to get a bit carried away with World Cup clothing.
This is the first of my four England t shirts (which may have been a little optimistic), all of which are from the menswear department of Primark since the women's World Cup range was rubbish. Rich bought the clothes for me and, since he was paying for armfuls of men's football-themed clothing, the assistant understandably thought they were all for him, and started enthusiastically discussing strategies and tactics. Poor Rich, who has absolutely no interest of football, was left to blag his way through the most manly conversation he's had in a long time!

*I didn't like football, which may have been why. I still don't like football. I just get really excited during patriotic events like this!
haha that's the kind of situation Kris would find himself in. Sometimes the similarities between yours and Rich's relationship to mine and Kris's is funny :)
ReplyDeleteI felt SO sorry for him!

What a lovely comment! thank you so much, Lottie!
DeleteLovely outfit and I love that you were advised to dress as though you liked football to get the guys - I did pretty much the same thing when I was younger!
ReplyDeleteAlso, that skirt is so pretty. :)

Clearly my dad knew all about what 14 year old boys wanted in a girl *eye roll*!!
DeleteI don't follow sports so I wouldn't know that the shirt was in support of England. I just love it because I think it's a wonderful print. Love your outfit.
ReplyDeleteYup, the England football badge has three blue lions and a bunch of roses on it. This print is an enlargment of the badge. I love how it's patriotic and awesome at the same time!
