Dr Martens boots shown in this post were gifted
I think it's time to accept that summer is behind us now. Out go the sandals, and in come the ankle boots. And thanks to Dr Martens, I'm going to have super cosy feet all winter with these Leonore Chelsea Boots.
When I was about 12, I got my first bikini. It was blue and yellow with starfish motifs on- very cute! A year or two later, I'd decided I was too fat to get my stomach out and, for the next decade, I resorted to wearing only tankinis or one-pieces. And then, in my late 20s, I had an epiphany. What if I just wore what I actually wanted to? I tentatively tried a bikini on and walked around a hotel swimming pool. And you know what? It was liberating! Since that day, I haven't looked back. I absolutely love a bikini and with fashion sites like PrettyLittleThing offering gorgeous swimwear in a range of sizes, it's getting easier and easier for me to find my perfect beach outfit.
As I've mentioned a lot lately, I've been challenging myself to take more risks when it comes to the clothing I wear. At the moment, I'm really into skinny jeans. Having worn nothing but black skinny jeans through the entirety of 2006- 2010, it's funny that these days it seems like such an intimidating prospect. I'm absolutely loving my foray back into denim though, and I've had so many lovely comments both online and off. When CurveWow asked if I'd like to try an item from their collection, I saw these blue embroidered skinny jeans and absolutely fell in love. To my delight, they're even more beautiful in real life!

Sometimes all you need is to put on a pretty dress, do your hair all nice and have a fun evening with your loved ones. I have found the perfect dress to do just that. This black embroidered dress from Lovedrobe is so pretty, the ideal garment for getting dressed up, and I feel amazing in it!

Lately I've been trying really hard to push myself a bit when it comes to clothes. As much as I love my skater-skirt-and-t-shirt basics, I've enjoyed experimenting with my style a bit more recently, and trying out shapes and looks I wouldn't usually go for. When Lovedrobe contacted me, I kept this in mind and decided to try this denim pinafore. I loved the cute retro feel, and I had an idea straight away of how I could style it. Luckily for me, the risk absolutely paid off!

When you're plus size, you pick up a lot on what other plus size folk say about clothing brands. It's not as easy for us to just walk into any high street shop and pick something up off the rails, so word of mouth is super important. One of the brands I'd heard a lot about was ELVI, particularly about how generous their sizing was. When I got an email asking if I'd like to try out one of their pieces, I was really excited to find out for myself whether ELVI lived up to the hype. Let me tell you now- I was not disappointed!

We've already established that I pretty much wear dresses, or at least skirts, every single day of my life. I think I own one pair of trousers, one pair of dungarees and that's it in terms of two-legged garments. But sometimes I think maybe it would be nice to experiment a bit more. When Yours Clothing got in touch and asked if I'd like to try out an outfit from their new collection, I saw this as the perfect opportunity.

I cannot resist a skater dress. There's something about the loose fit and flowing fabric that I just find so comfortable, and they look cute too. I also happen to love a wrap dress, so throw the two together and you pretty much have the perfect dress recipe for me. This particular plus size dress is from Pink Clove and I'm absolutely in love with it!

Do you ever do that thing where you find something nice in the sale, buy it even though it's definitely not weather-appropriate, and then completely forget about it by the time the relevant season comes round? That's exactly what I did with this dress! I bought it from Sainsbury's in the winter of 2016, intending to save it for the summer. Only by the time summer emerged, it was buried in the bottom of my wardrobe. Earlier this year, I cleared out most of my clothes and came across it again. This time, I made sure not to forget it and it finally got its chance to shine, 18 months after purchase.

What an absolute dream Fun House was! Running home from school on a Friday afternoon so you could admire Pat Sharp's mullet and dream that you were a cute cheerleading twin shaking pom poms. Or, of course, that you had the opportunity to race those go karts. The ultimate goal. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to enter the Fun House myself but, over 20 years later, I can finally throw on that yellow t-shirt (we can all agree Team Yellow was the best, right?) thanks to TruffleShuffle. Better yet, you can join me- or be my Red Team rival- with your own top, using the discount code at the bottom of this post.

Fun fact: When I was 15, I wanted a Miffy tattoo. I'm not going to lie, part of me still thinks that would be really cool. I absolutely love the little Dutch bunny and I cannot resist any Miffy-branded products. Luckily for me, TruffleShuffle has a whole bunch of them, including this super cute Miffy raglan baseball t-shirt. Isn't it gorgeous! If you want your own Miffy top (or bag, or mug, or door stop...), keep reading, because I have a 15% discount code at the end!

I challenge you to read through this post without getting Marina and the Diamonds stuck in your head. Apologies in advance! When I saw this heartbreaker top on ASOS just before Valentine's Day, I had to get my hands on it. I might look sweet and innocent, but I'm definitely capable of breaking a few hearts!

Some people would call me stubborn. I prefer to say I'm determined. If I set my sights on something, I'm going to do everything I can to achieve it, regardless of what other people think. It's this attitude which made me need this jumper with a burning passion.

You can't go wrong with a bit of Marks & Spencer. If you're looking for classics, it can't be beaten, although they also stock some really cute things on the more exuberant side. Now they've stepped up their game with the introduction of their brand new Curve collection- a plus-size range especially designed for sizes 16 to 32.

OK, last Christmas post, I promise. It's just that this jumper is so cute and I can't wait a whole year to post it at a more socially-acceptable time. My blog, my rules.

Ever since I bought my first piece of Black Milk Clothing way back in 2013 (see terrible photos here), I've absolutely loved the brand. I was really looking forward to their Christmas 2017 collection but there was only one piece I liked- the Wrapped Up Pocket Skater Skirt. At least that made my decision easier, I guess!
It wouldn't be the festive season without some sparkle, amiright? I actually bought this dress last Christmas and I've had absolutely no use for it until now. It's made for Christmas parties but since I had none of those to go to, I figured I'd just chuck it on for no specific reason in a look I'm calling: Chubby Disco Pigeon.

I think I've shared two outfits with trousers in the entire almost-six years of this blog (I just went through my entire backlog of posts to find them and then discovered I'd used Photobucket to upload the photos and obviously they've now been removed so that was an epic waste of time!). I'm just not a fan of trousers. I like my legs to feel all free and unrestricted, and I find skater-style skirts so comfortable. But then I bought this cute top and it looked a bit weird with a full skirt so I decided to try it with a pair of trousers. You know what? I actually love them!

All the way back in June, I went to Salzburg for my birthday (because where else would I go?). I took OOTD photos every single day, but as soon as I got back to England, I got thrown into this big ol' ball of stress and didn't get the chance to post them. So now, as we approach Christmas, I'm going to start sharing all my cute summer outfits. Sorry not sorry.

In 2007, I bought a yellow Spongebob t-shirt. No judgment, it was cool at the time, ok? I wore it to my friend's house, we took photos on her crappy little camera, and uploaded them to Facebook... and I was absolutely horrified. My teeth, which were always on the discoloured side, were pretty much the same colour as the top. After that, I vowed never to wear yellow again and I managed it for almost 10 years when Leona decided she was going to have her bridesmaids dressed in yellow. I'm pretty sure she took several deep breaths before telling me because she knew there was no way in hell I would ever wear the colour. But, you know, she's my friend and it was her wedding and I figured I could just keep my mouth closed all day. I actually loved the dress in the end so, shortly after that, I decided enough was enough and I booked myself into the dentist to sort everything out. After some pretty intensive treatment, I was ready for my whitening course, which I'm currently halfway through... and look! This is me, wearing a bright yellow dress and bloody smiling with my teeth. A year ago, I wouldn't have dreamed of doing either of those things so this is an absolutely massive step! God, it feels good!
