First of all, we popped into Fudge Kitchen where there was a very friendly man making fudge on the shop floor. It smelled amazing and the salted caramel fudge was to die for!
Of course we ended up in Lush having a demonstration of the new Yummy Mummy shower gel and body conditioner. I can confirm that is smells incredible and I may have bought some!
By now we were a little peckish, so looked out for somewhere to have afternoon tea. We'd heard that Sally Lunn's was very good but there was a huge queue so we ducked into the little cafe next door.
Once we'd filled up on delicious warm scones, it was time for a spot of shopping. Bath has so many wonderful boutiques and I was in candle heaven with both Jo Malone and Diptyque stockists!Of course we ended up in Lush having a demonstration of the new Yummy Mummy shower gel and body conditioner. This amazing WHSmith's advertisement was displayed behind a glass wall in Paperchase. I absolutely love this sort of "real" history: The history of every day men and women. Despite Googling extensively, I haven't been able to find any information on the advert but it looks 1930s-1940s to me.
Laden with shopping bags, we rested in Starbucks where they're celebrating the upcoming Valentine's Day with these adorable hearts on the side of their cups, replacing the usual boxes. Such a cute idea!
Around the corner from Starbucks is this rideable pig statue. I was all over that!
Bath really is such a beautiful place - I've only ever been once but would love to go back an explore more! xx

Sounds like you had a fun day :P I find it so charming, the british life. The cute dainty streets and villages, having tea time with nice floral tea pots and cake. Has to be my favorite country. I have a british friend that says it's not actually like this but I prefer to keep my fantasy alive.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun! Love the view, it looks so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandad lives Bath so I'm there a lot and it is absolutely stunning! Next time you visit you should go to 'The Fudge Factory' their fudge is to die for!

Wow that is a pretty city. I'd love to be able to take day trips like that. I'm also jealous of being able to drop into a Lush store like that! I've only been to one once in NYC and it was so busy that I could only buy one thing before I couldn't deal with getting pushed around by people anymore.

I've only ever really passed through Bath, but I'm dying to visit properly and do some exploring. The photos of the architecture around the river are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely need to visit Oxford next; it's such a beautiful city, especially in Spring and Summer, and there's so many pretty things to see. I've lived nearby all my life, and I still love visiting it. xx
Looks like a great trip! That fudge looks amazing!

It has been way too long since I was last in Bath. It is such a wonderfully beautiful place, with so many cute places to take photos. I must go again soon. Although it does take around 3 hours to get there via train, so no day trip for me sadly. x
ReplyDeleteAh my pretty hometown :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Bath, it looks so pretty! The hearts on the Starbucks cups are adorable too, I've got my fingers crossed that the Starbucks in my university has these cups x

Looks like you had a great time! I would love to visit Bath, I really should because it's so close to me when I'm at uni in Exeter.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so beautiful! Adding Bath to places I want to go to

Bath is such a beautiful city. I've been there quite a few times but not for a while. I think I live even closer than you do so there's really no excuse! I was about to ask if you'd ever been to the Roman Baths then spotted the post in your Linkwithin gadget! That's something I've yet to do so must sort that out.
ReplyDeleteBath looks so beautiful, I really need to visit one day!
ReplyDeleteI've never been before, but might have to go for a hospital stay if things work out (though it's probably a long way off). Bit scary the thought of going so far away (I'll be staying for a few weeks), not that I'd get to see any of Bath as I'd be inside a hospital all day and night! : (
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - I was born and bred in Bath, so feel a little homesick now! Hope you had a wonderful time x

Bath has been on my list of places to see in the UK for ages. Since moving away I've really started to notice all the great places I never saw. Hopefully, we'll have plenty of time to see more of the UK in the future.
ReplyDeleteI love Bath and really want to visit it again - it seems like one of those places where you discover new things every time you explore.
