Review // Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water

Looking back over all the micellar waters I've tried, I think Garnier was the best. Yes, it had its downsides, but is much better than any I've used since. When I looked for a new one, I stumbled upon the Oil-Infused Cleansing Water in Boots and it seemed perfect. Over the past year or so, my skin has become dry so I'm eager to try anything that may help with that. This product has certainly helped!

PACKAGING

As you might expect, the packaging is virtually identical to the original Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water (click for my review). It comes in a 400ml bottle which is pretty big but with its rounded, almost flattened shape, it's more convenient than some smaller bottles I've tried. As opposed to the original pink packaging, the oil-infused water is identified by its yellow label and layer of yellow oil floating on top.

APPLICATION

Like the other micellar water, the product has a tendency to rush out of the bottle very quickly. This is slightly more annoying though as the oil will typically be dispensed first and I end up with slippery hands! Most of the time I'm prepare for it, but if I'm sleepy or in a rush, it's easy to forget and end up wasting a fair bit of product.

Despite this annoyance, it's a very pleasant application process. For one thing, it smells absolutely incredible! I'm not sure what it is but I've defintiely smelled the exact same fragrance somewhere before and it's driving me mad. Even Rich said "You smell nice... It reminds me of something". If you happen to know what it is, let me know! If you don't like products with a strong fragrance, this isn't the cleansing water for you but in my eyes, the scent is one of the best things about it. It applies smoothly and feels gentle on my skin with no tugging or rubbing. Since it's designed for sensitive skin, it's particularly mild around the eyes which is a huge bonus.

RESULTS

I've been amazed by the difference this product has made to my skin. Immediately after use, it feels incredible moisturised and smooth to the touch, without leaving an oily residue. I've noticed less redness and dry patches on my face since I've been using this and it removes my make up like a dream. Not to mention that it makes my face smell amazing!

I'm completely in love with this micellar water. I think I might finally have found one to repurchase when it's finished!

  1. Okay, I'm sold! I've just finished my bottle of the original formula and definitely need to try this, my skin has taken such a turn recently and is suddenly extremely dry. This sounds like part of the solution! xx

  4. I may have to give this one a try, I do have dry patches even thought I have an oily T-Zone on my face but this may help a little maybe. It's worth a try.

  5. I keep meaning to try this - I must buy it as my next micellar water, as it sounds brilliant! I'm quite fickle when it comes to micellar waters, so maybe this will be the one that wins me over!

  6. I bought this one after my big bottle ran out but I find myself going to my travel sized original one instead most of the time! I'm just not loving the oil, and it doesn't seem to make any difference to my dryness!

  7. I'm a massive fan of the micellar water from Garnier anyway so I'm desperate to try this out, not sure who it would work with my sometimes oily skin though?
