52 Shoes: Review

Back in January, I made a vow. I was going to wear all those shoes left languishing on my bookshelf by the front door: One different pair every week. 52 shoes in 52 weeks. As it stands, I didn't quite manage it. However, I did photograph 31 pairs (there's another pair that I forgot to put in the collage above) so that means I was only 21 short. Not too bad, I guess! Oh, who am I kidding? It's terrible!

As the final week, have a look at these crazy shoes that I got on Everything5Pounds. They're surprisingly easy to walk in, although I do have all the grace of a giraffe ice skating on stilts when it comes to walking in heels, so I'm not sure I'll ever actually wear them out. They were only £5 though, so how could I resist?

Home Alone jumper and 52 Shoes XXXI

 Jumper: Clothes Show
Skirt: Topshop

I know every blogger and their cat has this jumper right now but I don't care! I absolutely love it! You can buy it pretty much everywhere for about £10- ebay, markets, those cheapy clothes shops. It's so warm and cosy too!
I can't quite believe that I haven't featured these shoes yet. They've been worn so much that they're totally ruined and the kids at work are commenting on the fact that I always wear them. They're from Primark, of course, and they go with nearly everything I own. Shame they're destroyed now but, since they're only £5 or so, I can just go and buy some more. God bless Primark!

52 Shoes XXX

I am absolutely in love with my new starsign shoes! I got them on Everything5Pounds which might be my new favourite site. As you can imagine from the name, everything on it is £5. These shoes are dead ringers of the Charlotte Olympia birthday shoes, but one hundredth of the price! I'm not actually a Pisces, but I needed purple shoes to match my outfit for Clothes Show Live. I guess I'll just have to go back and buy some more. Shame...

I was a bit worried that they'd be terrible quality but I'm actually impressed. The sole seems pretty sturdy and everything's attached properly. In fact, they seem much better quality than Primark shoes.

This isn't a sponsored post, by the way. I'm just over the moon with my new shoes!

Wellies: Primark

These wellies are a godsend! Unfortunately, I have really chunky calves. I always have, even when I was a size 12! Apparently my aunt has the same problem so it must be genetic. This means I really struggle with boots, especially wellies as they are so stiff.

Now that I have these ankle wellies, I can go jumping in puddles all I like. I love the minty shade. I love the bow at the side. I love the almond-shaped toes. I just love, love, love them!

52 Shoes XXVIII

I love these shoes! I bought them from New Look many years ago, and I was actually wearing them when Rich proposed for me. I don't think I've shared that story on here. I must do it one day. It's a corker!

The reason I love these shoes so much is because a) I can actually walk in them, and b) they don't kill my feet within 3 minutes. They are literally the only pair of heels I can comfortably wear so I chose them for Bloggers' Halloween. They're perfect for me!

Slippers: Primark

It's so cold! I am freezing my little tootsies off. Luckily, I have these amazing Cookie Monster slippers from Primark. I have quite the affinity with Cookie Monster as he was the subject of an in-joke with a uni friend back when I was an irresponsible teenager!

These slippers are so soft and so fluffy. They're all fleecy inside and out so they're super snuggly. Teamed with my fleece strawberry onesie, I'm in cosy heaven!

Shoes: Primark

These are the shoes I mentioned in my Primark haul video. I've wanted them for the longest time. One of the girls I taught a couple of years ago has been wearing these for a few weeks and every time I see her, I ask her where she got them from. She doesn't know so I've begged her to ask her mum but she kept forgetting.

When I went to Primark last weekend, I found these in a size 3 or something. After a lot of hunting- and roping Rich in to help me- we finally found a solitary pair in my size. I'm very happy!

Brighton Pride Look and 52 Shoes XXV

Sunglasses: Primark
Top: H&M
Pinafore: New Look
Socks: Topshop
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins

The theme of Brighton Pride this year was Gay Icons so I decided to dress inspired by the world's biggest gay icon- Dorothy herself! Everyone could be a friend of Dorothy with me! (I was also once told I look like Judy Garland and I'm desperately clinging onto that comparison!)
Can we take a moment to appreciate my amazing Dolce & Gabbana-esque sunglasses. Primark. £2. Woohoo!
I got these shoes about two years ago but they were a little big so I only wore them once. I cracked them out again today and they were perfect for my ruby slippers! Especially when paired with my cute frilly socks!

52 Shoes XXIV

Shoes: Primark

I love these shoes. Unfortunately, being cheap Primark shoes, the soles have started peeling away from the upper. They were good enough for me to wear quickly as I popped to the local shops, but I really think I need to throw them out. Sad times!

Oh well, just an excuse to buy more, I guess...

Shoes: New Look

I am a huge advocate of ballet pumps, as you may have noticed. However, when I went indoor skydiving yesterday, I was advised to wear lace-up shoes. So I pulled out my trusty Converse. Well, they're not actually Converse but close enough. I bought these for my Garth Elgar costume a few years ago and they're perfect for times when I don't want to ruin my nice shoes. See that big blob of white paint on the left shoe? That's from the time I helped Marie paint her house. They're a mess and I love them!

Shoes: Store Twenty One

Earlier in the week, I showed you a new pair of shoes from Store Twenty One. It was two for £8 so I chose these cute butterfly-print flats. Of course, being me, I got overexcited at the cute print and chose the pair that go with absolutely nothing I own! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to buy some new clothes. Shame...

Shoes: Store Twenty One

Store Twenty One (or QS) is a great little place for shoes. I picked up this red polkadot pair last year and, after a little venture yesterday, I came out with two new pairs for £8. Bargain! These swallow-print flats are so adorable! I'll show you my second pair later in the week.

Shoes: Barratts*

Summer is (apparently) here and it's time to look for shoes that won't toast my tootsies in the sun. Luckily for me, Barratts sent me these cute Timeless toe post sandals.

I love the patent bow. They're simple sandals but still cute and add a little quirk. They pretty much go with everything too. They're so easy to wear, comfortable and, most importantly, keep my toes cool and breezy! I can already tell that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of these this summer... Weather depending, of course!

What do you think? I'd love some suggestions for outfits to wear with them!

52 Shoes XIX

Shoes: New Look
I love these blue suede shoes! I feel like Elvis in them. Unfortunately, the dye isn't the most stable so I can really only wear them on days when there is no hint of rain to stop my feet turning blue!
Top: Peacocks
Skirt: Topshop

You can also have a bonus outfit photo today. It's been a long time since I've done one of these! I'm absolutely in love with my new skirt. It was a birthday present from Rich and it goes perfectly with this blue top. Such a bright, fun summer outfit!

Pardon the natural, out-of-control hair! I'd washed it and, quite frankly, couldn't be bothered to straighten it before taking the photos!

52 Shoes XVIII

I don't wear these shoes anywhere near enough. I bought them in New Look last year when I was buying everything in pastels. They're cute, right? Like wearing ice creams on my feet!

52 Shoes XVII

I have a terrible, humiliating story about these shoes. I saw them in Kurt Geiger when they were full price and I absolutely fell in love with them. Rich promised to buy them for my graduation so we went back a few weeks later and they were half price in the sale. Amazing! Unfortunately, they weren't in my size. So I cried. Yep, I cried in a shop because the sale shoes were not in my size. I promise I'm not actually a priveliged princess!

We looked everywhere for them. I even tried squeezing my feet into a size 3, to no avail. Probably because I'm a size 6. Eventually, we found one pair online at John Lewis that were in my size. Happy days!

As a result of this mortifying backstory, I hardly ever wear them. I don't want to ruin them after all that fuss so I only wear them on really, really dry days when I know there is absolutely no chance of damp ruining the velvet.

Look how cute they are though. Totally worth it!

Thursday

52 Shoes XVI

I love these little tennis shoes. I bought them in New Look a couple of years ago now and they are perfect for summer. So comfy and they look really cute with sundresses. They're surprisingly cool too, considering they're completely enclosed.

Sunday

52 Shoes XV

Today, I went to the Vogue Festival and I had grand plans to take photos of my shoes in the venue. Then, of course, I forgot, so have this hurried snap taken on the train back!

These navy beauties are from Primark and I absolutely blooming love them!

52 Shoes XIV

I absolutely lived in these mint Primark ballerinas last summer. In fact, I loved them so much that when the sole fell off one of them, I bought a brand new pair and kept the odd one just in case the other breaks. This week, finally, the weather has been nice enough to crack them out again. Yippee!

Wednesday

52 Shoes XIII

New shoes! My third pair of new shoes this month... Oops! (That's not including the Converse that my bro gave me).

These polkadot cuties are from Primark. They were only £5. What a bargain!
