Monday

Say hello to my car!

Yes, I have a car. No, I can't drive. I tell you what though, now that I have one, I can't wait to drive it.

I've never even had a lesson. I had literally no idea how to even start a car until Rich showed me yesterday. Still, I'll be starting lessons soon and I can't wait to whizz my baby around the streets!

I'm going to pimp him out with polkadot seat covers, a crochet granny blanket on the back seat, cushions and my lovely Sooty and Sweep mascots. Oh, not to mention a Yankee Candle air freshener. Am I going overboard? Probably a little.
I haven't given him a name yet. I can't find one that's just perfect. Any ideas?

Sunday

52 Shoes II

I bought my first pair of flatforms last week! It's hard to see in this photo but, trust me, they're definitely flatforms. I found them in the Office sale for £10. What a bargain!

They're absolutely gorgeous but a little harder to walk in than I thought. Still, they're perfect for me. I can't wear heels since they hurt the balls of my feet so much. The flat platforms keep my footsies nice and comfy!

Saturday

Happy Birthday, Mummy!

Tomorrow is my mum's 50th birthday. She's off to London with my stepdad in the afternoon so my grandma organised a big birthday meal for her with our entire immediate family (minus my brother Jamie, but we usually forget about him anyway!).
I can't believe she's 50. She's so youthful! I'm really hoping that I've inherited those genes!
My grandma made little cupcakes for everyone, and put them in little cellophane bags tied with a ribbon. So cute!
Of course, it wouldn't be a family outing without a ridiculously great photo taken by Myles. His potential sickens me!

Friday

FF XXIII

As part of my New Year's Blog Resolutions, I'm picking up my Friday Favourites series again. It's something I really enjoy and I love sharing the wonderful things I see around the internet.

First things first, I've discovered a great little online shop called The Literary Gift Company. It has a whole host of adorable things, but I particularly love these.

I love Haruki Murakami, and this quote is pretty much perfect, so I think this pin is just adorable! Oh, and can we take a second to admire these earrings

Of Mice and Men is my favourite book ever. Look, it has a little quote and everything! I am so in love with these, I couldn't even begin to tell you!
Confession time: I've never had a macaroon. I have no idea what they taste like. However, they do look really cute. These trinket boxes are absolutely adorable!

I have no idea how Go Compare wrangled Stephen Hawking for their new advert. Since previous adverts feature greats such as Sue Barker, Ray Mears and Louie Spence (International readers- Be assured that I know as much about those first two as you do!), it's a wonder that they pulled this off. Nevertheless, it's hilarious. I like a Go Compare advert? What?
Kate Gabrielle posted this amazing idea on her blog, Scathingly Brilliant. It's fantastic and I really must do this myself!
This dude made a T-Rex entirely out of coat hangers! Amazing. How does his mind even work that way?

Right now, I am completely in love with The New Normal. Rich and I watched every episode back to back over one weekend. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you do! It's so funny and yet so beautiful at the same time. I'm not ashamed to admit that it makes me cry like a little baby. Also, if you ever wonder what our relationship is like, just look at Bryan and David's. We are exactly like them, only straight. I'm Bryan, in case you were wondering.

This dude is, quite frankly, amazing. I really, really hope he gets a job soon! Plus, it turns out he was at the same uni as me at the same time, so he must be awesome!

Thursday

ModCloth Year of the Dresses

If you haven't already heard, ModCloth have a pretty awesome contest, called Year of the Dresses. The entry requirement is to show off your personality and style whilst answering the three questions posted. I had so much fun with this and took the opportunity to make a fun little vlog as my entry. I thought you guys might like to see it so here it is:

You will not believe how much work went into this but I loved every second. I would really appreciate it if you could head over to ModCloth's Facebook page and vote for me. I'll repay you with chocolate. It will be virtual chocolate but still, the thought is there!

Wednesday

A-Z of Becky: Q

Q is for Quack
Duck face! I love ducks. I'm not really sure why. I just think a big, yellow duck is hilarious. I have a duck shower cap (as seen here), duck drawing pins, duck teddies, duck soap, glow in the dark ducks that stick on the ceiling... I just think ducks are awesome. And they're not even my favourite animal!

If you're wondering, my favourite animal is a pig. I also love pandas, penguins, pugs and, erm, bats.

Quack with me: Quack quack!

25 things fat people shouldn't do #10

"25 Things Fat People Shouldn't Do is an unabashed middle finger to the preposterous idea that any human who weighs more than the status quo does not deserve to live a full and well rounded (ahem) life. The list of 25 is composed word for word from direct lists of sheer assholery found on the internet. These range from the absurd to the profoundly shameful, and I will be disproving this offensive notion with style. May the Chub Club live long and prosper!"-The Militant Baker

For the record, I've gone off the schedule now and I'm just posting the items as they occur. I know I've skipped numbers 7, 8 and 9, but I'll come back to them, I promise.

Eat in public
Oh, just try and stop me! I blooming love food. I especially love chicken. And Nando's. I could never stop eating Nando's. Yeah, I'm a little on the chubby side but I refuse to shut myself away and eat in private, crying into my chicken.

I will eat my chicken proud and in public. I'll shout it from the rooftops if I have to: "I am Becky and I love Nando's!"

Of course, it's not just Nando's. Over the past month or so, I have also eaten in Pizza Express, the local pub, on the train and in the streets of Winchester. Do I care? Not a sausage.
