Thorpe Park Fright Night 2016
As is now my Halloween custom, I travelled up to Thorpe Park for my third Fright Night (2014 and 2015 here). This year, Marie was at a convention, and we'd been to Alton Towers Scarefest anyway, so I took Myles along with me instead.

Halloween OOTD // Ghost Dress
I have a real issue: I can't stop buying Halloween-themed clothes! In fact, I keep having awesome ideas for new Halloween outfits but I don't have enough time (or money, let's be honest!) to carry them all out. I guess I'll just have to leave some until next year. One of them is an absolute banger, believe me! Anyway, I saw this ghost dress on Boohoo and I had to have it despite my already sizeable Halloween wardrobe. Yes, it's got to the point where I have an actual Halloween wardrobe. Someone stage an intervention!

Alton Towers Scarefest
For the past couple of years, Marie and I have gone to Thorpe Park's Fright Night for Halloween (see here and here). This Halloween, we decided to level up and visit Alton Towers for their Scarefest instead. Since Alton Towers is a three hour drive away, we thought we'd go all fancy and turn it into a short break with an overnight stay at the Alton Towers Hotel. As well as being able to take our time and make full use of our visit, we also got the benefit of free entry on our second day and free Fastrack tickets for both.

Review // REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask
Lately, I've been rushed off my feet. Of course, studying for a master's is intense and on top of that, I've had a million blog and social engagements (I sound so sophisticated!) which has left no time for chilling out. I needed a little spot of pampering and REN came to my rescue with their Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. As I've only just started using this mask, think of my review as more of a first impressions rather than an in-depth analysis of the results.
Monday
Halloween OOTD // Witch of the Woods
I've already written a post about this dress but a) the photos went a bit fuzzy, b) I was wearing leggings and c) it's just too perfect for Halloween not to feature again. I even wore the legging shorts that I kept promising you. Wahey! An outfit post with no leggings!

Last-Minute Halloween Wishlist
A couple of weeks ago, I created a Halloween wishlist filled with awesome spooky-themed clothes, accessories and homeware. Then, inevitably, the retailers stocked even more stuff. I always have this dilemma at Halloween- if you buy stuff too early, will you miss out on even better stuff released later? But then, if you leave it too late, will all the good stuff sell out? Luckily for me, I'm happy with my haul this year, although these additional items are pretty cool!
Saturday
Halloween OOTD // Pumpkin Picking
Oh man, did this post cause a lot of indecisive stress! For one thing, I just couldn't decide whether to go for a pretty, hint-of-Halloween outfit or full-out novelty pieces (let alone which novelty pieces). Then there was the issue of which pumpkin patch to visit. Last year, when we cut our own Christmas tree, we noticed the farm sold pumpkins at Halloween. However, they explained that because of the UK's climate, they can't offer a pick-your-own service and instead have piles of pumpkins on display to choose from. According to them, this is the same for every other farm in the country... but then I saw Pickwell Farm had a whole field of pumpkins to choose from. Finally, on the day that we'd scheduled in our visit, it was absolutely pouring with rain! Still, we decided to make the drive down to Southampton, having settled on Pickwell Farm in my novelty bat skirt, and see what the weather was like there. To our relief, it was a perfectly lovely day with just a few scattered showers.

Halloween Nails // China Glaze Liquid Leather
Last year was my first Halloween with acrylics and I'd been planning for it all year. I knew exactly what I wanted! Then Laura and Matt decided to get married the day before Halloween so I was forced to go with nude nails instead. Selfish, I tell you! The good news is that this year, nobody's decided to get married and ruin the nail schedule so I finally got to fulfill my wishes!

Review // Lush Halloween 2016
Hooray! The best time of the Lush year is here! As always, I've bought the majority of the Lush Halloween collection to review. Although there are the usual classics, there are also some brand new products that I couldn't wait to get my hands on!

Halloween Week 2016 // Ghost of Halloween Past
Yes, it's that time of the year again! When Becky Deadbug pops up and takes control of the blog for the last week of October. Last year, I was woefully unprepared so I've taken steps this year to ensure that doesn't happen again! In fact, I may have prepared a little too well because Halloween week is more like Halloween-thirteen-days. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it though! Let's call it Halloween Fortnight. To launch my Halloween-thirteen-days Fortnight this year, I'm going to take you on a little trip through memory lane and share some of my costumes from Halloweens past. Warning: Scary photo quality ahead!

OOTD // Sweater Weather
Well, autumn is properly upon us now, isn't it? I've suddenly realised that I have no autumn-appropriate clothes which is ridiculous because, you know, I actually wore clothes last autumn. I've got an extortionate amount of clothes so I must have warmer garments in there somewhere but somehow it seems like I only have summer clothes right now. Thank God for Primark and their £10 cable knit jumpers!

Halloween Wishlist
Hooray! Halloween is nearly upon us and I, for one, am mega excited! I have a huge list of things planned so I can really have fun with it this year. Of course, to do all these fun things, I need an awesome spooky wardrobe so I've been checking out my favourite shops for the perfect Halloween treats.
CLOTHES
Mwahaha sweatshirt (Plus size) // Bat dress // Mesh t-shirt dress (Plus size) // Cobweb jumper
Skeleton hands body // Pumpkin jumper // Skeleton swing dress // Cobweb dress

Usually I look to ASOS for the best Halloween gear but this year, Boohoo have really raised their game. A lot more affordable too!
Tuesday
Review // The Stable, Winchester
After Ami and I went to The Stable in February (wow, was it really that long ago?), we've been promising to go back for more pizza. Somehow we've never quite managed it... until she moved to Devon, that is. Somehow, her being 200 miles away meant we actually put our plans into action!

Monday
OOTD // Burgundy and Stripes
You know how last week I wore that cord A-line skirt that I wasn't initially sure about but decided I loved? Well, I ended up liking it so much that I bought a matching burgundy one too! Ami and I went to Winchester a few days ago and we used my new camera to take some cute outfit photos. Guys, this camera is a game changer!

Review // Lush Pied de Pepper Foot Lotion
Approximately fifty million years ago, I was given a tub of Lush's Fair Trade Foot Lotion (as Pink Peppermint was then known) at an event. At the time, I had heels that were so cracked, they were literally bleeding (TMI soz) but once I started using this foot cream every day, it was like they'd been healed by a wizard. I was so excited by the success of this Lush foot cream that when I saw a different one- Pied de Pepper- pop up in the Kitchen, I pounced on it. What I hadn't counted on was just how long the first pot was going to last. I used it every single day for over two years before it finally ran out and had started to think I wasn't going to even start Pied de Pepper until after it had expired. As it turns out, I got there with about two months to spare but I'm not one to take expiration dates as gospel. So long as it's not mouldy or stinky, it's all good if you ask me. Good thing too as this pot is threatening to take just as long to use up!
Saturday
Nails // OPI Cosmo with a Twist
What with the chillier days creeping in, I thought I'd really step out of my comfort zone and go for darker nails. Last time, I had a burgundy which I loved, especially as it's so fitting for this time of year, but I didn't want to have two reds in a row. Instead, I considered going for a deep purple. When I looked at the rows of polish, however, I was intrigued by this- OPI Cosmo with a Twist.

Christmas at Lush Basingstoke
The best time of year is when Lush release their winter collection, am I right? For the third year, I was invited to a Lush store to celebrate the launch but this time, it was one of my closest stores- Basingstoke.

Review // Bobbi Brown Eye Definer Brush
I've had my favourite ever eyeliner for almost a year now and still haven't found the perfect brush to apply it. I've tried NARS and Laura Mercier but found nothing suitable to get those cat eye flicks. In the end, I popped instore and asked the staff what the best brush would be, figuring it's better to use a brush that's been designed with this specific product in mind. She showed me a selection but recommended the Eye Definer Brush for my particular needs.
I've got a new camera so bear with me while I figure out how to use it!
Tuesday
Summer TBR Revisited
I never learn! Even after my summer 2015 goal of 13 books was too ambitious, I still thought it was perfectly feasible to read 15 books this year. Yeah, that didn't happen. I did do much better than last year though and finished 11 of them, which is four more than I managed last time!

Monday
OOTD // Simply Be Stripes & Denim
I am into black and white right now like you wouldn't believe. My last outfit post was monochrome and now here I am wearing more black and white. Recently, I realised that autumn is on the way and I haven't got any suitable clothes. Why is it that you buy clothes all year round and then each season somehow have nothing weather appropriate? As if they could sense my predicament, Simply Be came to my rescue with this striped jumper and oversized denim jacket.
Sunday
Review // Jeffree Star Rose Matter Liquid Lipstick
My wonderful ghoulfriend Sally surprised me with a tube of Jeffree Star's Rose Matter Liquid Lipstick and it was the most fantastic gift! I'd heard great things about his lipsticks (of course, I've also heard lots of not-so-great things about him as a person but for the purposes of this review, I'll focus on the product) so I was super excited to try out my very own tube!
Saturday
October Wishlist
Are you bored of blogs banging on about autumn yet? Hopefully not because I've got a snuggly autumnal wishlist coming right up! I'm feeling really excited about this autumn in a way I haven't before (possibly because it's not heralding the back-to-work misery!) and I'm celebrating in the best way I know... buying stuff!
Red Fiorelli watch // MAC Viva Glam lipstick // Floral brocade boots // Pineapple candle // Faux fur collar parka // Cream knitted throw // Burgundy velvet skater skirt
