Sunglasses: Vogue
Jacket: Vintage
Sweatshirt: Meadham Kirchhoff for Amazon
Skirt: Topshop

Today was London Fashion Week day. I was umming and aahing over two different outfits but in the end, I thought why not wear both? It is Fashion Week after all! I planned to put my hair up in top knots but I quite liked these little pigtails so I just left it like this. It was a fun little outfit.

How fabulous is my jacket? I picked it up in a charity shop last month. It was a little pricey but, as a vintage velvet embroidered jacket, I thought it was worth the price. It makes me feel like a matador. Combined with the sequinned skirt, and the gold glitter shoes I was wearing, I felt like a matador disco ball.

Outfits like this make me want to pull lots of silly faces. Spoiler alert: There's another silly face at  the end of the post.

Anyone else think pigtails are a good look on me? I might try this out more often. Even if it does make me look 10 years younger than I actually am!

25 things fat people shouldn't do #7

"25 Things Fat People Shouldn't Do is an unabashed middle finger to the preposterous idea that any human who weighs more than the status quo does not deserve to live a full and well rounded (ahem) life. The list of 25 is composed word for word from direct lists of sheer assholery found on the internet. These range from the absurd to the profoundly shameful, and I will be disproving this offensive notion with style. May the Chub Club live long and prosper!"-The Militant Baker

Wear glitter
Jes actually listed this as "Wear shirts with glitter" but I don't actually own any tops with glitter. Or anything with glitter. I do, however, own a lot of things with sequins!
I picked up this amazing red sequinned dress in a charity shop and I had to have it. It was labelled as a size 8 but I thought I could stick it on Doris as a decorative piece. When I got it home, it turned out it was super stretchy and I could squeeze into it. I feel like the love child of Julian Clary and Jane McDonald in it!
Sequins are a must for Christmas, of course! I love my Topshop skirt.
My mum bought these shoes when I was 16. It feels great to still be able to wear something I wore as a teenager!

Maybe I'll wear all three together sometime!

Sunday

52 Shoes VII

I love polkadots. I love red too, so red and white polkadots are pretty much perfect for me. I spotted this pair in QS a little while ago for about £3 or something ridiculous like that. They're the perfect fun shoes for swinging on the gate.
Today was such a lovely day! It was the first sunglasses day of the year, which makes me very happy!

25 things fat people shouldn't do #23

Sit at a booth
Not just sitting at a booth, but sitting at a booth in Nando's, no less! I have never (yet) got stuck in a booth but they certainly are awkward to get in and out of. Despite the inconvenience, I still get a childlike delight in sitting at a booth. Why do I always like the most unwieldy experiences so irresistible?

How absolutely adorable does Jo look in her DIY heart print dress?

What a cute concept- A tail that reacts to your pulse and wags when you get excited. I would totally wear one of these Taillys
I am an absolute perfume addict and Marc Jacobs' Daisy is one of my favourites. So I am super excited about the Sunshine edition! It's released at the end of the month, and you can bet I'll snap one right up!
This is a piglet with a wheelchair! Need I say more?

How to be a fat B #1 & 2

One of my favourite bloggers, Rachele over at The Nearsighted Owl, has developed an incredible 52-week e-course titled How to be a Fat B (I've slightly censored the title. It's not particularly rude but, you know, I need to keep my blog completely swear-free).

The concept is amazing! It's basically a course on being awesome and fat. Not awesome even though you're fat, or awesome despite the fat. As simple as awesome and fat. Now, I feel I should make a disclaimer here. There are so many plus size bloggers out there and a lot of them are bigger than me. I'm a little concerned that some people may think I'm not "fat enough" to do this. However, I am on the plus size scale at a UK 16, and I've certainly had my fair share of fat insecurities, so I'm doing it and you can't stop me!

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's make a start on the first two assignments:

Assignment 1: You are not giving up!
This assignment requires me to write a list of five things to do that make me happy. So here are my five things. I'll do them this fortnight and report back in two weeks.

Assignment 2: Reclaiming the word fat

I'm a little stuck on this one. The task is to use the word "fat" to celebrate it, rather than hide from it. Rachele has suggested writing it on your body, or icing cupcakes with it. I want to do something a little different but I'm completely stumped! Any ideas?

A-Z of Becky: V

V is for Vintage
I have no idea when my love for vintage started. As far as I'm aware, it's been ingrained in me since I was a baby. Growing up, I loved listening to the Mamas and the Papas, Elvis and the Monkees with my dad which fostered a love for the 60s. My favourite film was (and still is) Oliver. I spent my early childhood dressing up in my grandma's 70s cast-offs. My favourite book as a 7 year old was a Dorling Kindersley book about costume throughout the ages. I desperately wanted the 1960s plastic dresses!

I got my first taste of vintage clothing when I was 16 and my grandma gave me one of her 1960s Laura Ashley blouses. A couple of years later, I bought a 1980s skirt from a vintage shop and my obsession developed from there.

I couldn't even begin to count how many vintage items I have. Clothes, sewing patterns, fabric, clocks, books... It's all under my roof. My glasses are vintage. My engagement ring is Edwardian. If I could live an authentic vintage existence, I would. 1960s please, genie!
