OOTD // Embroidered Midi Dress with Lovedrobe
Sometimes all you need is to put on a pretty dress, do your hair all nice and have a fun evening with your loved ones. I have found the perfect dress to do just that. This black embroidered dress from Lovedrobe is so pretty, the ideal garment for getting dressed up, and I feel amazing in it!

I cannot resist a dress with floral embroidery. There's something about the folky sort of look that I just can't get enough of. This pattern, with gorgeous muted pink and green thread, adds such a pretty touch to an otherwise simple dress, and I love the way it frames my neckline and waist. The sleeves are loose, which is always a bonus for me, and the hem is the perfect length for me, sitting just above my knee. One surprising aspect of this dress is how generous the sizing is in the bust. If anything, it's a little too big around my chest which is something I can't remember ever happening to me! This sizing makes the dress really comfortable, and I feel like I can sit down for a meal (and eat a lot!) without feeling restricted.
Obviously a slightly fancier dress like this requires heels. I'm not too good at walking in heels but luckily I have these black suede heels with a low block heel which are pretty comfortable (although strangely the right shoe is a lot looser than the left so my foot has a tendency to slip out of it a la Cinderella).
This outfit is going to be the perfect old faithful to fall back on for events where I don't know what to wear. It's elegant enough that I'll never be underdressed, but still quite simple, so I'll never feel overdressed. It's right in that sweet spot!
