50 Days of Christmas with Boots

The days are getting shorter, the air is getting crisper and there's definitely a sense of anticipation brewing. Christmas is finally approaching, and I'm already getting myself organised with gifts for my loved ones. Everybody knows the festive season begins when the Boots Christmas Gift Guide comes out, so who better to turn to when looking for the perfect Christmas gifts? I've chosen three people in my life who are sometimes tricky to buy for and picked the ideal gift to show them I really know them.

Boots 50 Days of Christmas

Real Techniques Party Hopper SetMy best friend Marie is a huge fan of superheroes, video games and cosplay. Since I know nothing about this world, I can sometimes struggle with what to buy her. There is one area where our interests overlap, however, and that is make up. As a cosplay enthusiast, Marie spends her weekends travelling up and down the country, visiting conventions and taking part in contests where she shows off her handmade costumes. A vital part of this is using make up to represent the character as closely as possible. With this in mind, I thought this huge box of Real Techniques make up brushes would be perfect for her. The Party Hopper Brush Set contains nine brushes and two sponges, meaning she has a tool for every application, from contour and sculpting brushes to those for eyeliner and shadows. Real Techniques are renowned for being amazing quality, so they'll easily stand up to the heavy duty needed for Marie's hobby, and it doesn't hurt that they're super cute with the pink detailing. Whether she's cosplaying as a pin-up superhero or an elf princess,

Brisk Beard Grooming Kit

As long as I've known Rich, he's had a beard. He just wouldn't be my husband without it. Every year I think 'I'll get Rich a beard care kit for Christmas', but then I can never find the perfect set. Search over. The Brisk Grooming Kit is the obvious choice for two reasons, one being because there is a bear image on the packaging and I call Rich 'Bear'. Sentimental reasons aside, though, this kit has what has been missing in all the others I've looked at in the past. It has a great range of products, with a face wash and shave gel to keep the skin soft and smooth, as well as a beard oil and beard balm to keep his facial hair looking (and smelling!) amazing. The grooming kit even includes a pair of beard scissors to keep everything under control. Come the New Year, Rich is going to have a beard that looks better than it ever has!

SkinnyDip Manicure SetLauren, my brother's fiancée, always looks perfectly groomed. She takes great pride in her appearance and looks impeccable every time she leaves the house. This means she can be quite difficult to buy for, since I don't want to gift something that she'd never use. Luckily, this Skinnydip Gold Glitter Manicure Set is perfect! As a chemical scientist, she spends a lot of her professional life wearing gloves and therefore likes to keep her hands in tip-top condition when she's out of work. With this manicure set, featuring clippers, nail scissors, cuticle pusher and emery board, she can make sure her nails look neat and tidy at all times, and the case is the perfect size for slipping into her handbag so she is always prepared for nail-based emergencies. There's a pair of tweezers too, and we all know how much they come in handy! Of course, we can always rely on Skinnydip for products that are pretty as well as practical, and the manicure set is no exception. The tools are a distinctive gold shade and sit neatly within their gold glitter case styled like a mini clutch bag. Perfect for Christmas... and all year round, to be honest. Am I going to win the best sister in law award or what?

  1. Great gift ideas! Let Christmas have passed, but for my sister's birthday these are ideal options! I want to give her makeup brushes. She loves color magenta.
