OOTD // Black Milk Wrapped Up Skirt
Ever since I bought my first piece of Black Milk Clothing way back in 2013 (see terrible photos here), I've absolutely loved the brand. I was really looking forward to their Christmas 2017 collection but there was only one piece I liked- the Wrapped Up Pocket Skater Skirt. At least that made my decision easier, I guess!
Skirt: Black Milk
Top: Primark (similar here)
Cardigan: New Look (similar here)
Tights: ASOS (similar here)

I pretty much wore this skirt all through the festive period because I loved it so much. The quality, like all Black Milk items, is amazing. It's made of a thick swimsuit-like material so it's super comfy- really stretchy and lightweight. I tend to wear an XL and it fits me perfectly (although I have had to buy an L in the past and that fits fine too, although it's a little bit of a squidge). The biggest plus? It has pockets! Is there anything better than discovering a skirt has pockets? No. No there isn't.
Because the bow print is so loud and obnoxious, I kept the rest of my outfit simple. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for crazy-bright outfits, and I have worn this with a bright pink jumper to ramp up the colour, but on this occasion I wanted all the focus to be on the skirt. A black long-sleeved scoop top next top and my simple black cardigan kept me warm on this chilly December day in Salisbury.
Now, I have a very sad announcement to make. My absolute dream tights, the ones that have kept my legs warm for the past 18 months, have been discontinued. I bought a couple of pairs in the Boxing Day sale, feeling very smug at stocking up with a bargain price, and then when I checked recently, they'd been taken off the website. I'm gutted and will need to try some new black tights instead, hoping against hope that they're just as thick, opaque, snuggly and durable as the old ones. Why, ASOS, why?
Where would I be without my black suede ankle boots? They're starting to get a little scuffed and scruffy looking at the toe so I need to find a way to freshen them up (any ideas?). Also, the bottom of my heel recently started falling off but I just violently stamped my foot until it slotted back into place and I'm hoping for the best. It might be time to find a new pair of boots. Shame that...
OK so this was another late Christmas outfit post (get ready for the next one, which features an actual Christmas jumper!) but I figure gift bows aren't exclusively festive. I can just pretend it's my birthday every time I wear it. That works!

I had no idea that your skirt had bows on it until you mentioned it (+ the close up pics of course!). What a beautiful design! x
