5 tips for running your blog when on holiday

It's that time of year again! You're likely to be visiting relatives, or perhaps migrating for the winter. Perhaps you're worried about how to keep your blog running smoothly whilst you're away. Of course you don't want it to come to a standstill, but at the same time, you don't want to spend your whole break worrying about it. Hopefully these 5 tips will give you some ideas.

Gerrard International

I love finding out about a new place to find beauty buys, so Gerrard International seemed like the perfect website for me to check out. Then I discovered the lovely story behind the company. It started as a salon opened by a married couple in the beauty industry and, over time, it's grown and developed. Now, Gerrard International supplies salons and beauticians all over the country with beauty products. The best part of their story is that the founder's children are now also an integral part of the company. I love a good British family business!
The company was first inspired by Jessica nail products and these still form the spine of the business. Gerard International has an insanely huge range of Jessica products from single nail colours and top coats, to nail art effects and gift sets. My favourite is this Black Beauties manicure duet, which features both a matte and lustre black polish, so it's perfect for creating effects like this:

It's not all nail art, though. There's also a huge range of make up and tools from Mii Cosmetics. I absolutely love the look of this Gentle Glow illuminating face base, which is formulated to keep your skin looking smooth and dewy.
If, like me, your feet need a little TLC, Gerrard International stock Jessica ZenSpa products to keep your feet conditioned and smooth. This cooling ginger masque sounds perfect for me!
Not only do Gerrard International stock great products, but they also provide salons with the equipment for treatments such as long lasting Geleration nails and Jessica for Men. It’s not all for the girls, you know! If you’re interested in giving your nails some love, it’s easy to find your nearest salon online. On top of all that, Gerrard International host a series of events all over the UK. Just keep an eye on their events page for details. What more could you want?

This was a sponsored post but I am genuinely interested in Gerrard International. For more details on sponsoring Becky Bedbug, take a look at my sponsorship page.

Pub lunch with Leona

When Leona came to stay this weekend, Rich had the fantastic idea of going to the local pub for a Sunday lunch. It was beautifully decked out in Christmas decorations!
Red and gold: The only colour Christmas decorations should ever be!

The pub is called The Squirrel, and it has this adorable little squirrelly guy!

Doesn't this just look so cosy and perfect!
My yummy roast!
My boo!

25 things fat people shouldn't do: Wear a mumu

25 Things Fat People Shouldn't Do is an unabashed middle finger to the preposterous idea that any human who weighs more than the status quo does not deserve to live a full and well rounded (ahem) life. The list of 25 is composed word for word from direct lists of sheer assholery found on the internet. These range from the absurd to the profoundly shameful, and I will be disproving this offensive notion with style. May the Chub Club live long and prosper!"-The Militant Baker

Wear a mumu
Dress: Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop

I've been waiting for the longest time to complete this part of the challenge. Unfortunately, mumus aren't exactly in abundant supply so it's taken a little while. However, with the Meadham Kirchhoff collection for Topshop, I was in luck!

As soon as I tried this dress on, I knew it was perfect for me. It's grossly unflattering on me and it looks like a tent but I don't care! I love it! I feel like a hybrid of Mama Cass and Grayson Perry, and I'm totally ok with that.

It's so pretty and girly. There's so much fabric. It's so fun to swirl around in. And, my God, it's comfortable!

So here is me in a massive mumu... and I love it!

My Christmas List

Christmas is approaching (I know, it's not like we've heard much about it!) and I thought I'd share what's on my Christmas list. I'm quite funny about Christmas lists. I love surprises, and the problem with having a Christmas list is that you know exactly what you're going to get. So, ever since I was a child, I've written massive Christmas lists so I never know exactly what I'm going to get.

This is a little version of my Christmas List to show you some of the things I'm hoping Santa will bring!
Of Mice and Men is my favourite book of all time, but I only have a rubbish little copy that my brother "borrowed" from his school. This pretty copy is so much nicer!

I am still lusting after all of Black Milk's Harry Potter collection. This Bellatrix dress is top of my list!

Lush British Nanny Moisturiser looks like the perfect moisturiser for me! .

Yankee Candle Home Sweet Home looks like the perfect candle for that post-Christmas coldness.

A home-made Lush gift set (since the shop-bought ones are such poor value), including Space Girl, Christmas Penguin, Star Light and Cinders

What are you hoping to find in your stocking on Christmas morning?

Tree Erection Day 2013

This year was a very special Tree Erection Day. Leona came to join me! This year, as I do every year, we put on Love Actually as we decorated our beautiful tree. The difference this year is that I filmed the experience. This video was actually 75 minutes long originally. It's now 5 minutes. There was a lot of waffle!

The finished product! What do you think?

Word of December: Christmas

Ok, so this might not be the most imaginative word for December but, let's face it, December is all about Christmas! I'll have to be more creative next year but this will do for now!

So, let's take a look at my Christmas-related goals for December.
  • Post four Christmas-related posts a week.
  • Have five Christmas-themed days out.
  • Vlog my Christmas celebrations.
Who else is excited for Christmas? It's my favourite time of the year!
