101 in 1001 XXX

Last month, I didn't write a 101 in 1001 update purely because I achieved absolutely nothing. Ok, that's a lie. I watched a couple of films and read four books but ticking off two goals hardly makes for an interesting post! Instead, I thought I'd roll it over to this month since I knew I had a lot planned and could write a meatier update.

#22 Visit Salzburg
Salzburg Salzach River
Yay! I returned to the city that has my heart! I spent five nights in Salzburg- completely alone, FYI- and it was absolutely wonderful. I've got a huge amount of posts coming soon and I'm going to be returning for the Christmas markets in December.
#25 Visit Liverpool
Liverpool Albert Dock
Finally, I spent some proper time in Liverpool. It was my sister's 16th birthday and, as she lives up in the Merseyside area, Rich and I were invited into the city for her celebration meal. We thought we'd make a proper trip of it and booked a hotel for a couple of nights so we could truly experience Liverpool for once.

#51 Visit 10 new-to-me cemeteries 7/10
Beethoven Mozart Grave Vienna
While in Austria, I visited two new cemeteries- the small Sebastiensfriedhof in Salzburg and Vienna's Zentralfriedhof, which is one of the largest cemeteries in Europe.

#56 Watch 50 new-to-me films 22/50
The Good Dinosaur The Truman Show
The Good Dinosaur was scary, stressful, sad and the ending didn't really work for me. It was absolutely stunning visually and hugely emotional but I can't handle so many emotions in such a short time. Not for me. On the other hand, I really enjoyed The Truman Show. Yeah, this is the first time I'd seen it. Deal with it.

#90 Read 125 books 69/125
Pile of books
What with travelling around so much this month, I haven't read as much as I would have liked. I'm now a little behind on my target so will need to read a bunch of small books in order to catch up!

#96 Visit 10 new-to-me museums 11/10
Mozart Wohnhaus Salzburg
Woohoo, thank you Austria! I visited three museums in Salzburg- Mozart's residence, the Haus de Natur and Museum der Moderne- and the Funeral Museum in Vienna. I also popped along to The Beatles Story in Liverpool so that takes my total past my goal of 10.

  1. Sounds like you had a really interesting time! No way could I travel on my own like that for a few days, as much as I would like to I just wouldn't because of anxiety attacks and not having any help. I'd love to read that many books in a year!
