OOTD // Grey knit dress

Every now and then, I buy an item of clothing that becomes an instant staple. This grey knit dress is one of those. Since purchasing it in January, I've hardly worn anything else. It's just so comfy and it works for every occasion. The best part? It was £10 from Primark! Billy bargain!

It was only when I took these photo that I realised it's a tad too short around the bust, so it flares out from my boobs, rather than my waist. This gives it something of a 1960s maternity dress feel but I'm totally ok with that. The shape may not be exactly what I expected when I saw it on the hanger, but I love it nevertheless.
I feel like this outfit is a good indicator of how my style has mellowed out over the years. Don't get me wrong, I still love the kitsch and bold, but this has a slightly more sophisticated feel. There's probably all sorts of psychology in there about how I'm approaching 30 and I've taken control over my life's path in the past year. Now that I feel more in control, I've drifted away from unicorns and pastels... but that doesn't mean I've entirely grown up!! 
It's the black opaque tights, simple black bag and black ankle boots that give off this slightly smarter feel, I think. Mind you, the boots have a gorgeous silver glitter heel so there's a little bit of fun in there too.
Ami took these photos in Winchester and I have to say, this phone box is the cleanest, least smelly example I have ever found! The phone still works, too. I haven't been inside a phone box since 2006 but it was a lot of fun to mess around for these photos.
