Life and blog goals for 2016
2016 is going to be MY year. I have some really big plans that are going to make a huge difference to my life and health. I'm so excited for the year ahead!
GO BACK TO UNI
Ever since I graduated, I've planned to go back to university for a masters. Then I started work and it just seemed like it was going to be too difficult to interrupt my career. This year, however, things have changed. Since I went part time in 2015, it's eased me in to the idea of leaving work and we're now in a situation where we can afford for me to do so. Especially as I get 50% off postgraduate courses at the University of Winchester since I got a first class degree there. Funnily enough, Winchester is the only university in the UK that offers a course in my subject- death. That's right. I'm applying for a masters in death. Death, Religion and Culture to be precise. It sounds absolutely perfect for me and I'm crossing everything that I get a place!
START ICE SKATING
This terrifies me! Since the Winter Olympics in 2014, I've been saying that I'm going to start ice skating lessons (proof here and here) but, as usual, just put it off completely. For Christmas, Rich bought me some beautiful ice skates so now I have no excuse! I'm really scared but hoping it's going to be a really fun, productive hobby for me!
TRAVEL MORE
2015 has been a great year for travelling. I've been to York, Berlin, Paris and CenterParcs. Next year we're planning to visit Vienna and Salzburg, return to Paris and finally visit Disneyland Paris for Christmas and it's also my turn to organise a surprise trip for our anniversary! I'm also hoping we can find the time to visit Whitstable and Margate.
READ 60 BOOKS
This year, for the first time ever, I met my goal of 50 books. Now I want to push that even further with 60 books in 2016. I imagine I'll have a lot of reading for university so it's pretty plausible!
BLOG GOALS
In terms of blogging, my goals are pretty much the same every year: to increase traffic, increase followers and earn more. Ideally I'd like to reach 5k Bloglovin' followers, 20k Twitter followers and get 23k visitors a month. Possibly a bit optimistic but I'll have some more time on my hands in the second half of the year so I can devote more time to blogging and freelance writing.
When it comes to actual content, I want to pick up again on my book reviews and OOTD posts. In fact, I just want a bigger focus on fashion in general- I intend to make my Can Fat People Wear...? posts more regular and I have a new fashion series in mind too.
I have such a good feeling about 2016. I just know that this time next year, I'll be writing a similar post with a huge smile on my face when I think about everything I've achieved!

Good luck with your goals! I was so impressed when you said you'd decided to go for a Masters on twitter. That sounds like an amazing one for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to focus on fashion more this year, too. I'm always here as a sounding board if you need one (a bit selfishly because I have a couple of things in mind that I'd love to chat about to someone too!).
Good luck with all of your goals. Your masters sounds like a really interesting topic, and those ice skates are beautiful. I always enjoy watching it on TV and it always makes me want to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteI've just come back from Disneyland Paris and it's wonderful at Christmas, you'll have a fabulous time there.
Oh that masters sounds really interesting - good luck with it!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great goals this year, and I look forward to seeing what you achieve (:
2016 sounds super exciting for you. Good luck with the course - sounds very interesting, and different! I'm rubbish at ice skating - I spend more time on my bum than on my feet, hopefully you'll fare better! Happy new year! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
