How to be a fat B #1 & 2

One of my favourite bloggers, Rachele over at The Nearsighted Owl, has developed an incredible 52-week e-course titled How to be a Fat B (I've slightly censored the title. It's not particularly rude but, you know, I need to keep my blog completely swear-free).

The concept is amazing! It's basically a course on being awesome and fat. Not awesome even though you're fat, or awesome despite the fat. As simple as awesome and fat. Now, I feel I should make a disclaimer here. There are so many plus size bloggers out there and a lot of them are bigger than me. I'm a little concerned that some people may think I'm not "fat enough" to do this. However, I am on the plus size scale at a UK 16, and I've certainly had my fair share of fat insecurities, so I'm doing it and you can't stop me!

Now that we've got that out of the way, let's make a start on the first two assignments:

Assignment 1: You are not giving up!
This assignment requires me to write a list of five things to do that make me happy. So here are my five things. I'll do them this fortnight and report back in two weeks.

Assignment 2: Reclaiming the word fat

I'm a little stuck on this one. The task is to use the word "fat" to celebrate it, rather than hide from it. Rachele has suggested writing it on your body, or icing cupcakes with it. I want to do something a little different but I'm completely stumped! Any ideas?

  1. Ate you going to LFW? I hope I bump into you if you are.
As of the second task - when ever someone gives/ makes me something (be it a cup of tea or when my dad gave me my kindle) I say "happy fatty". Because I'm fat (it I consider my self fat) and happy. My boyfriend has gotten into the habit of using it too.

  3. Thanks for sharing this. Sometimes I feel like I am not "fat" enough too and people will wonder why I am participating. But I am plus sized and considered "overweight" so I say screw it and join in anyway. Good on you for joining too!

  4. This is a wonderful thing! I am sure if I did this then I'd get lashed out at. But isn't it about celebrating your wonderfulness in general?

I think I'll do this privately maybe ^_^

Love things that help go against the cramming of mainstream idiocy. Ok, getting heated. Anyway. Love you and DO THIS NO MATTER WHAT!
