Readathon 2015

Reading is one of my greatest pleasures in life. I read every evening but sometimes it's nice to just dedicate a huge block of time to snuggling up with a book. As you can imagine, I was pretty excited when I heard about National Readathon Day, where people are encouraged to read for the four hours between 12 and 4pm.

Since it was a cold, cold day, I cuddled up under the blanket with my copy of In Plain Sight, which was sent to me by Quercus. True crime is one of my favourite genres and this is a hefty tome, so I was really excited to make a good start on it. Sipping from a grande gingerbread hot chocolate (with cream) and with a lavender Diptyque candle lit, the reading conditions were perfect!

In the end, I read 230 pages which was below my target but still not bad, if you ask me!

I'll have a review of this book in a few weeks' time, so keep an eye on my book reviews if you're interested in finding out my thoughts!

  1. Gosh, I wish I'd know about Readathon Day. Though... I was busy this Saturday anyway. I'll have to look out for it next year. Reading has definitely become one of my favourite pass times since I got my Kindle. I can't wait to go to bed every night and get lost in a book. Lol.

  2. I completely forgot about the readathon! I'm going to pretend Sunday is the readathon and participate as if it is, how fun.

  3. I love reading too, I try to have a book on the go continuously. Sitting down with a good book is the one point in my day were I feel completely calm and oblivious to all of life's little stresses. Can't wait to read your review!

  4. Can't believe I missed National Readathon day. I love long periods of reading, just getting cosy and bulk reading like 300 pages is the best. I really need to do that with the book Im currently reading because it's really long and before bed reading isn't cutting it.

  8. I might have to give this a go one day. Do my own little readathon and see how many pages I manage. I doubt it'll be anywhere near as close as yours. Xx
