My pet hates

I like to keep this blog a light and airy place, but sometimes it's fun to let off a bit of steam. With that in mind, I thought I'd write a little list of my pet hates. A couple of these will come as no surprise, but I also think you'll learn something new about me.

Poor English
No surprises here. Now, it's important to point out that I don't judge everyone who uses English correctly. Of course if you don't speak English as your first language, if you have learning difficulties or some other barrier, it's a different matter, but people who are lazy with their written language do my head in! Don't even get me started on incorrect apostrophes or the use of the word "of" as a verb!

Ignorant sharing of information
Ok, that sounds odd, but let me explain: You know on Facebook, you'll see those posts that loads of people share. They're usually about immigrants or benefits, and often have some ridiculous percentage bandying around. Not only are they awful, judgemental and ignorant views, but they have no basis in fact whatsoever. 

Loud people on the train
There's a time and a place for train loudness. Saturday afternoon? Fine! But on a Monday at 6:57am, when there's 5 people in the carriage, don't get on and start shouting a conversation with the person right next to you, don't sniff and snuffle, and for God's sake, turn your music down! I'm trying to sleep here!

People who carry umbrellas horizontally
Why do people do this? They always have the point sticking out behind them. Depending on height, it could stab me anywhere from (at best) my thigh. At worst, somewhere that I really don't want things sticking into!

The way Rich drinks
I know this sounds weird but you should hear it! He gulps his drinks so loud- It's like a cartoon: "GULP, GULP, GULP!" Aaaargh, it drives me mad! I love him though, so I put up with it.
