As well as the parade, there was a little selection of market stalls and a concert band playing big band classics in the bandstand.
The parade is led by Queen Victoria herself (kind of!)
Her Majesty was followed by the Military Cadence Marching Band. I have a real thing for marching bands. There's something about the rattling of the snare drums that makes me really excited!
There were classic cars galore. This adorable 1957 Austin A35 was my favourite, driven by a just-as-adorable woman in a matching blouse. I'm not going to lie- I kind of want to be her! (I sound like I really know my classic cars but, in fact, I'm just very good at researching!)
Every time I see this photo, it makes me laugh. Is it wrong that I still harbour a secret desire to be the person inside one of these costumes?
Another marching band! This time, it was The Spitfires (14th Eastleigh Scout and Guide Band).
What a gorgeous, happy little fella! I love him!
In a few weeks, I have the local airshow coming up, and Rich and I have managed to get residents' tickets. I'm very excited about having another local event to share!

I'm really excited about it! I worked there when I was 16 and hated it, but I'm looking forward to visiting it as a guest haha!
