Review // Lush American Cream Hair Conditioner

When I wrote my 7 beauty products I will always repurchase post, I realised that my (very old) review of American Cream conditioner wasn't accurate. For one thing, it was a very brief review, with a terrible photo, but I also disliked it and was adamant that I'd never repurchase. Evidently that's changed over the past 18 months as it's now pretty much my favourite conditioner ever. Definitely time to write a revised review!

PACKAGING
American Cream is packaged in one of Lush's plastic bottles. I'd prefer it if it were available in a black pot as I like saving them for the recycling scheme and I also find the larger bottles are quite difficult to open and squeeze with wet hands. However, the positive side of these bottles is that they're available in four sizes: 100g, 250g, 500g and a massive 1kg. 
FRAGRANCE & INGREDIENTS
The fragrance of American Cream is one of my very favourite Lush scents. As much as Lush shout about it being strawberries and cream scented, I don't pick that up at all. Instead, I smell a creamy, vanilla milkshake kind of fragrance. It's very warming and comforting, and also has a hint of nostalgia that I love. As well as the vanilla and strawberry ingredients, it includes orange for shine and lavender and sage to soothe your scalp. 
APPLICATION & RESULTS
The downside for me is no fault of Lush's. I have a lot of hair. Not only is it incredibly long but there's also a lot of it, so I need to use tonnes of conditioner whenever I wash it. However, I do find that it's incredibly moisturising and really nourishes my hair. After use, my frizz is tamed and that wonderful creamy fragrance lingers for a day or so. Since my hair is very dry and frizzy, it needs a lot of nourishment and I certainly get that from American Cream!
American Cream is without doubt one of my favourite Lush hair products (although Veganese also vies for attention). As much as I intend to try every conditioner Lush stocks, I know I'll always come back to American Cream. Maybe next time I'll splash out on one of the 1kg bottles!
