Review // Nivea Caring Micellar Water
After trying the much-hyped Garnier Micellar Water, I was intrigued to try other brands. Nivea stood out to me so I picked up a bottle of their Caring Micellar Water to give it a go.
PACKAGING
It's far from being awful, but something about the shape of the bottle irritates me. I think it's because it's so narrow at the top, which doesn't feel quite right. Although it doesn't cause any problems, there's something a little unsettling about it, like it may slip out of my hands. That said, the snap-closure lid is easy to use and secure with no leaks at all.
APPLICATION
Unlike its Garnier counterpart, the Nivea Micellar Water releases just the right amount of product when poured (actually, perhaps this is because of the narrow bottle top!) As the name suggests, it's very gentle on the skin and doesn't cause any irritation around the eyes. There's no fragrance and apparently it contains Vitamin E although it doesn't explain the benefit of this.
RESULTS
Unfortunately, I found this micellar water isn't quite as effective as removing make up as the Garnier product. I need to use a lot of the water to completely clear my face so I don't imagine the bottle will last me long. Although this is frustrating, a plus is that it doesn't leave any residue on my skin.
I might not have been thrilled with the Garnier Micellar Water but I did find it was more effective than this Nivea Caring Micellar Water. I still want to experiment more with micellar cleansers though so I'll try another brand when this is finished. Any recommendations?

I saw this one the other day in ASDA and for some reason decided against purchasing it - probably because I have a couple of water cleansers already on the go!
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't already tried it, I would definitely recomment bioderma h20 sensibio micellar water - it is AMAZING! I used to use it a couple of years ago when you could only ship it over from France. It is even better than Garnier micellar water!

I'm currently testing out the Garnier one after finishing off my L'oreal version and can say I'm loving it! Even if it does leave a weird residue, all my makeup is gone :) X
