My #BAFTAStyle with House of Fraser

I am a sucker for an awards ceremony, especially the BAFTAs. Mostly because it celebrates predominantly British talent but also because, you know, I don't need to stay up all night to watch it. In fact, one of my very first blog posts was all about Red Carpet looks from the 2012 BAFTAs (you can read it here but be warned- it's absolutely terrible!). This year, House of Fraser got in touch to suggest I celebrate the BAFTA TV awards in my own way at home and I was well up for that! Pink plus size gown

Never one to do things by halves, I dressed as if I was really going to step out onto that red carpet. As soon as I saw this blush pink Dorothy Perkins dress with embellished detail, I knew it was perfect for my BAFTA look. The largest size was a couple smaller than I usually buy so I was a bit uncertain about the fit but I needn't have worried- when I tried it on, it fit like an absolute dream!

To complete my look, House of Fraser sent these lovely Lancome products. With Miracle Cushion Fluid Foundation on my skin, topped off with Hypnose Drama Mascara and Rouge in Love Lipstick in Rose Tea (200B), I created a really soft, feminine make up look to complement my dress. Simple halo braids were the icing on the cake and the whole look made me feel like a princess!
Classic party make up
While watching the show, I sipped on Champagne in a martini glass, because I'm fancy like that, as well as the specially-created HOFtail: a fruity blend of raspberries, lemon juice and gin. Although my cocktail skills aren't exactly well-honed, this video made it super easy to follow along. I'll be shaking my tumblers behind a bar before you know it!

I think my highlight of the night was Leigh Francis winning Best Entertainment Performance for Celebrity Juice. I mean, technically it should have been Keith Lemon nominated but maybe he wasn't allowed at such a prestigious event! I loved the way he accepted his award in a super posh voice- it had me in stitches! Of course, I was also rooting for Ant & Dec with nominations in the Entertainment Series (Britain's Got Talent) and Reality (I'm a Celebrity) categories but you can't win them all!
BAFTAs party
It was so much fun to really get involved with the BAFTAs. Roll on 2017!

  3. I got to go to the BAFTAs last year and it was pretty cool. I won a competition through House of Fraser and got a 5* hotel stay, the goodie bag the nominees receive and a £500 gift card to sort out my outfit and buy whatever I wanted x

  4. This is such a good idea! Maybe next year you should do the same thing but throw a party for your family and friends and get them to dress up for the red carpet etc! :D
