Our 5th Anniversary

When I met Rich, I was a 19 year old hung up on her ex boyfriend. Rich was a 27 year old slightly awkward geek who showed me a video of a sneezing panda on his iPhone. Little did I know that I would be living with, and engaged to, him 5 years later.

2008

The year that we met was a lot of fun. We had picnics, went on beach trips, I moved in to his mum's house after 6 weeks... Yeah, it was pretty fast moving! It's ok though, because I knew that this guy was special. By our second month together, we knew we would be married but agreed not to become officially engaged until some time had passed! 

2009

2009 was a really great year. We got engaged officially...twice (The ring broke the first time). We went on three weekend breaks that year. We were popping up to London every month. By the end of the year, we'd moved into our first place. Lots of exciting things going on! 

2010 

This was not such a good year. It was plagued by health difficulties which forced us to move out of our flat and in with relatives. We didn't have a lot of money so we didn't really do much. Nevertheless, we still loved each other and that's what really mattered!

2011

 

Things had looked up by the beginning of 2011. We began visiting London again. We found a beautiful house and moved in. Right at the end of the year, I was offered a job to start in the new year. That's when things got really good.

2012 

We both agree that 2012 was our best year. I'd started work by now so we both had wages coming in. We went to art exhibitions, the Olympics, Christmas markets... We'd go for walks around the local area and just generally had a lot of fun.

2013 

As great as last year was, there is no way it will compare to this year. This is the year when, more than 5 years after first deciding on it, we will become a married couple. Eee! What could be better?

Happy anniversary, Rich! I love you and I can't wait until we're an old couple in our seaside cottage! With pugs. Lots of pugs.
