Fireworks Spectacular

Unfortunately, our local fireworks display was postponed from Bonfire Night due to bad weather that never arrived, so I ended up seeing the fireworks display yesterday. A little late perhaps, and I was exhausted due to my morning in Southampton, but it was still a lot of fun!
 Extreme close up. Wooooah!
I love fairgrounds so much! I love the colours, the music, the screams... Does that make me sound weird?
It's the perfect opportunity to play around with shutter speeds.

I also really, really love candy floss!

There was some local band there. They weren't great but they sang Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi covers so, you know, I got involved.

Because I stopped growing emotionally at the age of 5, Rich bought me a flashing tambourine. Ooh yeah!
I love the way the spotlight has caught the smoke from the fireworks and diffused. Eerie, right?

  2. "Because I stopped growing emotionally at the age of 5" is the best thing I have ever heard you say. I think it sums me up pretty well too!x

  3. That last photo is so nice, it kind of reminds me of the bit on ET when the police all pull up in the woods!

  4. You're definitely not weird for being a fan of funfairs! (or at least if you are, then so am I) :-)

Fairgrounds are fab for action shots and the colours and artwork look great too. I'm a huge fan of old and new fairgrounds; I used to be a volunteer ride attendant at the National Fairground Heritage Musuem in Devon, my father-in-law worked on the fair in the 50s and 60s and my husband's vintage lorry used to belong to a fairground and generate electricity for the rides in the 60s and 70s. My dream job is also working a a librarian/archivist for the National Fairground Archive in Sheffield.

    I've just re-read what I've written and I think I probably sound a bit mad and obsessed... :-) x

  5. At least it was a tambourine and you could use it, I went to a Festival of Lights and bought a lit up headband, and headbands meant for five year olds start to hurt very quickly!
