Review // Tom Ford Lip Colour in Spanish Pink

Don't ever tell me dreams don't come true because, look, I have a Tom Ford lipstick! I should probably point out that, unfortunately, I haven't won the lottery and I was only able to buy this because of a gift voucher I received since, you know, I can't actually afford £37 on a single lipstick! I settled on Spanish Pink because I'm all about pink lipsticks and this seemed like a really versatile shade. Luckily, I was absolutely right!
Let's start with the packaging. It's absolutely gorgeous with a square (or, technically, cuboid) shape and a sleek black and gold finish. In fact, it's so shiny that I feel bad getting my fingerprints all over it! The lid is really sturdy and has a very secure "click" to it, so I'm not worried about it falling off in my bag, although I still keep it in the box just to be extra sure. On twisting up the lipstick, the TF initials are embossed into the bullet, which has a muted coral pink appearance.
When I apply this lipstick, it feels expensive, if that makes any sense. It glides on completely effortlessly, feeling really lightweight and the shape of the bullet is just perfect for application without any smudged edges. Once on my lips, it took on a peach-coral shade with a touch of an iridescent lustre. The tone is so warm that is seems to brighten up my face, especially when teamed with a coral cream blush. The shade is so versatile which is exactly what I was going for. If I was buying a high end lipstick, I wanted to be able to wear it everywhere!

There is absolutely no stickiness or drying effect with this lipstick. In fact, it almost feels like I'm not wearing lipstick, although it stays put for hours. When it does eventually fade, the shimmer is the first thing to go, resulting in a more matte finish that gradually fades into my natual lip colour without any smudging or uneven patches.

I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! Would I buy another Tom Ford one? It's hard to say since it's so expensive but the quality is definitely worth it!

  1. That colour really suits you! It looks so natural, but better, you know?!

I know how you feel about expensive lipsticks, I have a Chanel one that my nana gave me, and even though it's the most ridiculously perfect colour for me, I'm almost afraid to wear it when I go out. I don't want to bring it outside the house in case I lose it. I'm a little odd, I know!
