In true Top of the Pops style, I'm going to countdown to my number one. Spoiler alert: I like pink.
5 PINK PLAID
As you will shortly discover, I have a thing for matte lipsticks. Matte lips are my thang. Pink Plaid matches the natural colour of my lips almost exactly- a deep, blue-based pink. When I want a subtle but polished look, this is the shade I go for.
4 CANDY YUM YUMAs you will shortly discover, I have a thing for matte lipsticks. Matte lips are my thang. Pink Plaid matches the natural colour of my lips almost exactly- a deep, blue-based pink. When I want a subtle but polished look, this is the shade I go for.
You know those days when you feel on top of the world and you want to shout it out to the world? Candy Yum Yum is made for those days! It's the brightest, boldest, most fun pink ever. This lipstick is a staple for bright summer days.
3 VIVA GLAM NICKI I
As you would expect, Viva Glam Nicki is pretty much pink perfection- a little flirty, a little attention seeking but still subtle enough to wear as part of a casual day look. Generally speaking, this is the lipstick I reach for when I attend blog events, or any other events where I want a little confidence boost.
Please Me is the most perfect everyday peach-rose shade. So perfect, in fact, that I wore it on my wedding day. True facts right there.
Oh, Bombshell! Lovely, wonderful, underappreciated Bombshell. Confession time: I always wear this lipstick when I see my doctor. It's my please-fancy-me lipstick. If I were a fan of clichés, I'd say it was a your-lips-but-better nude with a hint of frost, which is surprising given my matte leanings.
I'm not going to pretend this was easy. I felt like Louis Walsh looking down on my lipsticks and telling them that they're all great but just didn't quite make the cut (only without anyone losing out to Wagner). In fact, at time of writing, I've only got 4 lipsticks in my top 5 because I just can't decide which to have fifth. Hopefully by the time this post is published, I'll have made my mind up!
By the way, this post totes has affiliate links. Just FYI.
Happy to see Viva Glam Nicki in there, my favourite! I think Pink Plaid is gonna be my next one from MAC :)

Oooooooooo. So if I were to invest in my first ever MAC shade (i'm a terribad blogger oop) then it would definitely be one of these 5. Pink Plaid looks so cute and Please Me is somethign I think I now really really need. Damn.

I recently purchased my first Mac lipstick (I went for 'Diva-ish' which is a new one, but I think its lovely) I debated on please me and bombshell so I might have to go back for one of them!

Great selection. I have Please Me too and I agree that it's a lovely shade. One of my all-time fave MAC mattes is Mehr. If I'm unsure of what lipstick to wear, I always grab that one. It goes with errrything. xxx

Candy Yum Yum looks incredible! x
ReplyDeleteI'm the only person I know that got a MAC lipstick due to all of the hype and praise and felt disappointed. I got the Diva shade which is great in colour but the texture was so dry, it faded in a very unattractive way :(
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful shades! Great post!
