10 beauty brands I need to try

I've been pretty active on Instagram lately (you can find me here) and I find myself saying "I really need to try XYZ" time and time again. In fact, I've created a little hitlist, if you will, of brands I need to try in the next year.
Best beauty brands to try
CHANEL
Yeah, this is pretty bad, right? For one reason or another, I've just never tried anything from Chanel. I have my eyes on one of the powder blushes- Orchid Rose, perhaps?

DIOR
Strictly speaking, I have already tried Dior. I bought a really cheap Dior lipstick from some dodgy site and wrote a terrible review of it in which I praised how much I loved it when, really, I was completely underwhelmed. I think this is what put me off trying other Dior products for so long. For a while now, I've been intending to try one of the Diorskin foundations, and I'm also really interested in the mascaras. I just can't decide which one to go for!

ESTÉE LAUDER
I wouldn't be fussed about trying anything from Estée Lauder if it wasn't for one thing: Double Wear Foundation. Everybody is obsessed with it and I can't possibly let that slip without seeing if it's worth the hype for myself, can I? Once I've finished my NARS. And my Anna Sui. And tried the Diorskin I mentioned above. And Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. And NARS Sheer Glow...

ILLAMASQUA
It feels criminal that I haven't tried anything from Illamasqua yet as I know how popular this brand is. When looking for a new primer recently, one of the products I considered was Illamasqua's Hydra Veil, and it's still on my list of primers to try.

LADURÉE
As far as I can tell, Ladurée make up is only available in France, which is a shame, but I am planning to visit Paris at Christmas so... The packaging is beyond beautiful so I pretty much want all of it. Top of my list are the blushers shaped like rose petals and cameo brooches.

LAURA MERCIER
Another primer I considered was Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer Hydrating which is supposed to be amazing for dry skin. Another one I'll be trying out before the year is up!

MARC JACOBS
I'm a big fan of Marc Jacobs fragrances, so I was super excited when I found out that Marc Jacobs make up was being released in the UK. As a lip balm addict, I'm desperate to try this Lock Lips Moisture Balm and I might also add the Coconut Face Primer to my neverending list.

SUNDAY RILEY
As I get older, and notice more wrinkles creeping into my face, I'm looking more and more towards skincare. Sunday Riley has had such a phenomenal response from beauty bloggers that I'm really eager to try it. I've been recommended the Sleeping Night Oil so that's where I intend to start.

TONY MOLY
All of the other brands on this list are high end, so it's about time I featured something more affordable. I've been meaning to try Tony Moly's adorable products for the longest time! Everything is so cute but I think my favourite is the Panda Dream Brightening Eye Base. Who doesn't want to carry a panda around in their pocket? Exactly!

TOO FACED
Like Dior, I have already tried something from Too Faced. The Perfect Flush Blush is one of my favourite powder blushes (awful review here) so I really want to try the Love Flush Blush... and not just because it looks like a Polly Pocket! I also need to see if the Better Than Sex mascara is worth the hype as well as adding Born This Way foundation to my now seven-strong list. Oops!

Are there any brands I'm missing out that I may not have tried already? Leave me your brand and product recommendations in the comments... because I haven't got enough to try as it is!

  1. I love love Estee Lauder, I light the Double Wear Light foundation it's so much well.. lighter on your skin! I would love to try Chanel though, their lipsticks look amazing as does the weird bronzer mousse they do. Illamasqua stuff is sooo pigmented, their blushes are amazing. I would like to try some more Too Faced as well, it's everywhere lately?! x

  2. Illamasqua are amazing for coloured pigments, I use their eyeshadow daily and it lasts the entire day without any primer underneath. I'm really into Charlotte Tilbury at the moment too, I got my first order in and it 100% lives up to the hype I'm obsessed with it. I saw someone try the rose petal shaped blush by Ladurée on YouTube recently and they really liked it, I've been curious ever since!

  3. The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks are definitely worth a try - the formula is really good! I also haven't tried the DW foundation - I almost picked up the light version last Summer but ended up not bothering. I feel like it's one of those that I'll get eventually. I also really want to try the Better Than Sex mascara.. Or Better Than Love mascara as it's know out here in the Middle East (LOL) I think that's my next mascara to buy. I really want to try Makeup Forever products too - I'm definitely picking up the HD Foundation stick once I get a bit of colour again and I'm also intrigued by their primers.

  4. The Laura Mercier Primer is on my to-buy list too! Also Mac lipsticks because I'm probably the only blogger who doesn't have one of those and I need to find out what all the hype is about!

  8. My sister recently got the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation and she's pretty much in love with it. It looks awesome on her but I'm so used to my £8 GOSH foundation I'm not sure I can bring myself to splurge on it. Haha.
