Review: Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple

I bought two more Just Bitten Kissables in the Boots 3 for 2 offer, and I was a little indecisive as to what else to buy. In the end, I settled on this Colourburst Lip Butter, mostly because I was drawn to the packaging. The silver tube, and the slanted bullet, looked pretty swish. Of course, I plumped for the red shade- Candy Apple.

The first thing I notice as I apply it is how inconvenient the bullet is. It may look nice, but it's not easy to apply at all. It's impossible to create any form of shape, so I have to resort to just smearing it in the general lip area. Luckily, the colour is pretty sheer so it doesn't look too obvious.

It feels nice to apply- Very balmy and soft. The colour is easy to build, although, as I said, I can't get the colour too bold or it will look ridiculous. The problem with this is that it doesn't last very long at all. Within a couple of hours, the colour has all but disappeared.

I don't think I'd recommend this. It's a nice enough product, but with an entire marketful of lip products, my money is better spent elsewhere.

  1. I own this and I agree, everyone had the massive hype over it and I bought it, liked the colour but found it quite disappointing. I guess its good for a quick bit of colour but not long lasting, the colour really suits you though :)

    1. That's exactly what I found. It's a shame.

  2. I have one of those (unless it's a new type) in macaroon that I love. I find that although it isn't exactly a defined swipe, it lasts a little longer for me and it is beautifully balmy

    1. Maybe I'll try that one and see if I fare any better with it.

  3. Despite all the reviews these haven't really appealed to me to be honest, so I'm kinda glad you've said this wasn't worth it - as you say about the wear, I'm not into balm-y things really. They're not cheap either!

  5. What a beauuuutiul shade! You'd think that for such a bright colour it would stick around a little longer! xx
