Review // MAC Cinderella Royal Ball Lipstick

Oh, I can never resist hype! Especially when it's MAC hype. This time, for the first time ever, I managed to get hold of a limited edition collection product! Admittedly not in the first run but I spotted that MAC had restocked their Cinderella collection online about a week later and pounced on the Royal Ball lipstick. Unfortunately, in my excitement, I put down the wrong address and it was delivered to my mum's where she opened it before I had taken photos. Eventually I got hold of it and I could not wait to try it!
Royal Ball is a lustre which isn't my favourite finish. I find them too sheer and they tend to wear off very quickly. Unfortunately this shade is no exception and the colour has all but gone within the hour. It's a shame as it's a very pretty, shimmery nude. Perhaps a little too nude as it's so sheer and ends up giving me a little bit of a corpse face.

I also think the packaging is really cute. A lot of people disagree, I know, but I love the blue and lilac iridescence that reminiscent of both Cinderella's dress and the glass slipper. Although I wouldn't exactly recommend this lipstick (not that it would be relevant, since it's sold out), I'm still glad I tried it. One for more natural looks when I pop out quickly!

  4. I was royally (get it?) P'd off with the shortage of Cinderella products. I mean it seemed like NOBODY got them, so was it worth even releasing?! I too stumbled upon the restock and unfortunately this one had already gone, but I got the other lipstick and a lipgloss. Shame I didn't snag one of the powders (though I think it was only the lip products restocked). It's really put me off MAC tbh, seems the limited releases are just TOO limited these days and that's no fun, if it's gone before it's even out. I think this packaging is beautiful btw x

  5. I love the Cinderella packaging! I was abit disappointed at how tame the collection was though, then again I love my brights.
This lippie looks great on top of a lip liner, adds that lustre to it whilst the liner will show the deeper/brighter colour depending on the shade you use :)

  7. That's the reason I despise pale nude shades. Doesn't last and makes you look washed out and bleurgh. Not a fan whatsoever. The packaging is so pretty though

  8. You look lovely! I really want this, although I have the same problem as you in that nude colours often give me "corpse face" too! I am tempted to buy it just for the pretty packaging though... and hope that the colour suits me!

  11. Yeah I'm in the not loving the packaging camp I think, doesn't have that expensive look that I'd want from mac - and what a shame that it doesn't have the staying power!
