Two easy vintage hair tutorials

I love an interesting hairstyle. I think it finishes off an outfit perfectly and creates more of a "look". However, I have an unfortunate hatred of actually styling my hair. As a result of this, I have made it my priority to develop a repertoire of easy-peasy vintage-inspired hair styles.

40s braids

90s top knots

  7. Love the plaited hair do. The 90s top knots made me laugh as I used to wear my hair exactly like that regularly back in the nineties- I'd forgotten all about it!

  8. I love the first one. I like to have a plait on each side of my head when its in a ponytail but I've not tried the round the head plait yet. I'll do that when my hair is long again

    1. It does need quite long hair to do it, unfortunately. I'd love to see it when you get to it!

  10. Argh lovely tutorials, nice and easy and for once no heat or backcombing! Love it.
I tried styling my hair in 90s buns just before easter but felt too self conscious to wear them out! I felt like my housemates were going to laugh at me haha, strange as it was my go-to hairstyle as a kid, I'm definitely going to have to try again. As for the heidi braids, they're something I always love on others yet have never tried on myself: maybe a mission for today?! You rock both styles so well.. xxx

    1. I'm trying to give my hair a rest from backcombing!

Aaw, just wear them out. I do it all the time and I don't even notice if people look at me funny. Let me know how you get on with the Heidi braids :)

  12. Hehe, I wear an altered version of a crownbraid when I'm busy and when it's exam week! ill post a picture on my blog soon. I really like your way of doing it. I have shorter and much more textured hair so I need to do a twist incorporating hair as I go to get this look
