Big Blogger Conference

Blogger conferences seem to happen a fair deal over in the states, but there was never anything similar here in the UK. That is, until Lauren of Blonde Vision stepped up and created the Big Blogger Conference. Held in the gorgeous Russell Hotel in London, the day was a combination of blogging workshops and brand networking, and, if you ask me, was a huge success.
Powerpoint emailed to phone
The morning was devoted to workshops, which were conveniently arranged in a carousel formation- we chose a room to sit in and stayed there all morning while the speakers alternated between rooms. When I arrived, I chose to sit at the back next to Dani of So Many Lovely Things and it was the best decision I could have made. She was my ultimate partner-in-crime for the day!
Notebook and pen
We were very kindly provided with notebooks courtesy of Ohh Deer, and some Jelly Belly jelly beans to snack on while we listened to the speakers. Someone had the genius idea of emailing the powerpoints to all attendees so we could access them on our phones while listening to the really informative talks on Pinterest, SEO and monetisation.
T rex dinosaur necklace
After a quick Yo Sushi for lunch, we returned to the hotel for the brand networking. There were around 20 brands set up across two rooms, with representatives on hand to discuss the brand, showcase their products and answer any questions. The above T rex necklace is from Jewellery Box and has gone straight onto my shopping list for payday!
Abi O of Beau Bronze
The owner of Beau Bronze, Abi O, was absolutely lovely to chat to. She explained how her tanning products are designed with British skin in mind, so they're pink-toned rather than the usual yellow tones, and she recommended the Soft Sun English Rose tan for my skintone. She's recently spraytanned Lady Gaga so I trust her judgement on this!
Designed by Henna
As well as brands who deal with fashion and beauty products, there were also those offering services. Henna (yes, that's her name! I love a bit of nominative determinatisation!) was on hand (heh) to adorn bloggers with the most beautiful henna designs. She even included glitter for a fun, glamorous finish.
The Parlour London up do
The girls from The Parlour were offering cute braided updos such as the one seen here on Laura. I was impressed with how they managed to handle my hair in its natural, curly state so I'll definitely be popping into their salon. They offer cupcakes and cocktails with every treatment!
Brand goodie bag
It was a fantastic day and, as you can see, the brands were so generous! I've got so many wonderful new products to review, which I'm really excited about, including the new Look Fantastic beauty box, a Crown brush and a whole bunch of Popchips!
A huge thank you to all the brands and Lauren for taking on such a mammoth task! She has more events up her sleeve, so keep an eye on the London Meetup Twitter for details of them.
