Review: Barry M Touch of Magic Lip Paint

I have been meaning to try this lipstick for the longest time. It's magic! Green in the tube and then, on application, it turns pink. According to the website, the alkali levels in your lips determine the exact shade. I'm not sure what the point of this is exactly, but it's fun!

The packaging is the standard Barry M Lip Paint tube- Square and black. Not exactly the most exciting, but pretty sturdy none the less. Inside, the bullet is shaped into the traditional "lipstick shape" and, rather disconcertingly, is a bright, lime green.

As I applied it, I was aware of a synthetic smell reminiscent of Playdough, and the consistency was a little firmer than I like for a lipstick, although it was easy enough to apply. This is when the green magically turns into pink. On me, it was a bright hot pink- A great, uplifting shade.

The longevity wasn't amazing. After only a couple of hours, it had pretty much faded completely, leaving a pink outline around the outer edge of my lips. Nothing like the 8 hours that Barry M promise! For £4.50 though, I was hardly expecting miracles!
Overall, this is a fun, cheap product. It's perfect for popping into a bag when out and about and I can see myself wearing it a lot, even if I do need to reapply constantly!

It looks so nice on you, such a pretty shade. I do like the idea of it adjusting to suit each wearer :)

  11. This looks like a really good concept - I've never really been in to lipsticks but I like the idea of it changing according to your lip colour so I may give this a go!
